And I will stand for my dream if I can,
Symbol of my faith in who I am,
Symbol of my faith in who I am,
Personality:
One of the most perverted and cheerful fighter pilots to ever live. There is rarely a moment when he isn't checking out the girls, though he usually has the goods sense to hide it with a pair of aviator sunglasses. He also has the good sense to keep it to just looking and keeps the flirting in check on base, though off base all bets are off. Same could be said whenever he encounters a servicewoman from another nation, fraternization laws aren't international after all.
A joke is never far from his lips regardless of the situation, even with death staring him in the face. This has many reasons, the first being a love for a series about pastel ponies, the second being an undying faith in humanity and the third being a bravado born of his own natural fighting talent. To him, no situation is hopeless. Ever. All you need to do is stay positive and keep looking for that way out.
Also a joke never hurt anybody.
Except Batman. Damn Emo.
He's also a video game and battle junkie. During off hours he is often found playing various video games, whether they be on a console, handheld or a PC. Every flight sim he owns has him racking up the most hours in an F/A-18 Hornet which he will always claim is 'the sexiest bird in the sky' to anyone who will ask him about it. As a battle junkie he also enjoys sparing and training in the martial arts resulting in him being among the most formidable hand-to-hand fighters in the Star Gate program.
Politically he is primarily Centrist with Left-leaning tendencies, making him a very vocal critic of his current Prime Minister, Tony Abbot.
And I must follow on the road that lies ahead,
I won't let my heart control my head,
I won't let my heart control my head,

Fulfil your destiny,
Is there within the child,
History:
James was born in Perth, Western Australia, as the third child of his mother, Mary, and the first of his father, David. The only sibling he has ever really known has been his brother, Adam, his mother's second child and only recently learned of the existence of his eldest sibling, though he has never met him.
His life has always been fairly simple. His childhood was a very easy going one, his parents earning enough for him to never go without the necessities, even if luxuries where few and far between. Like any young boy he ran around, got covered in dirt, ripped his clothes and skinned his knees on an almost weekly basis. Growing up he would sometimes get in fights with his older brother over trivial things, like getting attention or the last piece of pizza but nothing that could break their bond.
As far as education can be concerned he received the best that was within the means of his parents, a public school education from the schools within walking distance from their home. To supplement this education and help his social skills his parents at first enrolled him in the Boy Scouts, but after basically milking that for what it was worth, and getting little from it, they abandoned that and enrolled him in martial arts.
There they learned James was a natural. He was a quick study, learning even advanced techniques after only one or two demonstrations and mastering them within two dozen repetitions. Within just his first year his teachers had him regularly sparring with the black belts, by the time he quit he was already one rank shy of black belt and able to spar with a second degree black belt on equal footing.
Even then the only reason he quit was because he couldn't both train his martial arts and join the Air Force full time. Though it did make him pretty much one of the scariest guys on the training mats at during basic training.
Those most shocked by his decision to join the Air Force where none other then his own parents. Although his older brother had joined the police forces a decade earlier they had always known he wanted to be a cob. James, however, had never shown any inclination towards wanting to fly. They had always assumed he would either become a cartoonist or animator based on how much he loved drawing, or a professional in the contact sports. They even thought it was either a prank or he was on a dare.
Once in the Pilot program he proceeded to continue to be full of surprises, although his theory and written portions of his training where about average his practical abilities where among the top of his class. He frequently outperformed his peers and instructors in both simulations and practical flying training, especially the mock dogfights.
Most notably being that he's the only pilot alive to pull off a Pugachev Cobra in a stock F/A-18 Hornet.
This is contrasted heavily by his strange luck during training; he was involved in no less the thirteen crash landings, all resulting from mechanical failure and all of which he walked away from with only minor injuries. This resulted in both his call-signs being earned, the first being 'Lucky 13' which lasted all of half an hour until one of the rescue crews recounted how he emerged from the flaming wreckage of his thirteenth crash like a phoenix, not a scratch on him. Thus he earned his current call-sign.
It was this skill, and luck, that got him scouted for the Stargate Program, though his consistant vocal objections to his current Head of State certainly helped speed up the approval. He sometimes muses that his CoC's general response to the SGCs request was 'send him somewhere far, far away.'
