Doctor Warren, was in interesting choice for the leadership. Not only was the man in the field of Anthropology, but versed in quite more than he let on. Currently his version was on his flagship team. Again, the Admiral mused, he was indeed an interesting choice as he turend to see the reactions of everyone. Hamrick's was what he should have expected, "I gather that Major," he acknowledged, "Doctor Warren is in charge."

Clicking his radio, "No Doctor," Matt confirmed, "We aren't. We are looking to be in an Alternatve Reality or Universe. Too far from home." He wasn't surprised that that Lyrians were armed. He wasn't sure how it was in this world, but in their they were invisible, "I'll repeat it again, we mean no harm," this time he stressed on it little more. "Permission to land?"

Just what the heck was going on here? He wondered.

After receiving a green light the ship had landed in the docking bay assigned to for the ship. It seemed that they had a ship previosly given the size of the bay they parked in. Whether it was their version of USS Shiva or another ship, it was yet to be seen. Given what the team could see, the planet looked the same as their own. Jungle styled with overgrown trees in the landscape. "No difference here," he muttered to himself, looked at the group, "We are going to play nice and friendly and hope we can get these people to help us out."

All they needed was a bargaining chip.

Steve powered off most of the ship's systems, just a goodwill gesture to their apparent counterparts. "I'm pretty sure things here are going to be very different, sir. I'm trying to figure how the hell Blake has the resume for your job. We both know the professional sacrifices spouses make."

Warren had his security with him, two human Marines, backed by their four Troodon squadmates. The Troodon's uniforms, armor, and weapons were shaped differently to satisfy their theropod bodies, but they otherwise wore and carried the same gear.

One of them looked up at the Shiva and let out a growling sigh. Warren nodded. "Yeah, Major, I know what you mean. Considering they're us, I didn't need all six of you."

And Major He-Who-Bites-With-Sharp-Teeth answered that with a clearly negative squawk while he shifted his P-90T.

Warren tapped his radio earpiece, patched through the base to reach the ship. "You and your people are cleared to disembark, Admiral."

Sharp-Teeth snarled and snapped his jaws in a quick fashion that showed very little tooth. "And one of my Troodon officers says your Troodon are welcome to share their kill. One of the big felines in our forest, I assume you have them too. They hunted this morning."

Steve reached for the transporter controls and paused. They'd been invited, and what the hell was a Troodon? Definitely not in Kansas anymore. "And we go meet the neighbors?"

"We are going to play nice and friendly and hope we can get these people to help us out."

She nodded at the Admirals words, "Se queste sono anche le nostre persone" (if these are even our people) Cooper said quietly, hoping they were, "I'm pretty sure things here are going to be very different, sir. I'm trying to figure how the hell Blake has the resume for your job. We both know the professional sacrifices spouses make." Hamrick had a good point, one of the questions she had was how did Dr. Warren end up in charge of the expedition? And where was this universes Admiral Oxford?  

Dr. Warren gave them clearence to leave the ship after mentioning what sounded like a new type of creature and they hunted large cats..so the thing themselves probably were not tiny in size. "And we go meet the neighbors?" Major Hamrick asked, "Admiral Oxford said nice and friendly, so I believe that would be the cordial thing to go do." she said. Even if they did not have a single clue as to what to expect.

Dr. Harper reached the hanger just in time to see the Shiva landing; glancing to Dr. Warren she was glad to see that he had extra security with him.  Though she had faith in the abilities of the human marines, the Troodon were also a nice thing to have. Catching her breath she walked up to stand a few feet behind Warren,  Isabella nodded to Major Sharp-Teeth,  "I take it he complained about having so many of you follow?" she said giving the reptile a small smile., unlike her husband, she could understand the creatures rather well, though there were still language barriers at times. 

Dr. Warren cleared those on the Shiva to disembark, "Do you think they'll be able to help us?" She asked as she started to fidget with the silver ring on her left hand; she sent a prayer up as she watched the ship, waiting for those inside to exit and hopefully figure out an answer to their looming problem.

So, this didn’t go quite as expected

The wormhole created by dropping the nuclear warhead into the black hole had gotten them back to the Vedas Base sure enough, just not the Vedas Base they were hoping for. Through some miracle, or catastrophe, of wormhole physics the Shiva had somehow jumped into another dimensions.

Upon making contact with the base and being cleared for the land, the personnel of the cruiser began to bring themselves to terms with what had happened. By the sounds of it, a number of expedition members were also present in this parallel universe, though they held different roles or had taken divergent paths through life. As the crew of the Shiva made their way out of the cruisers for introductions, Henry couldn’t help but notice that he hadn’t seen or held from Alternate Henry yet.

While the majority of the welcoming party strode along calmly with Doctor Warren, their illustrious leader, one of the base’s civilian doctors was hurrying to catch up. Out of breath and dropping folders every few steps, Doctor Elin Larsen, senior archaeologist, was only on time thanks to the timely intervention of a Troodon who had seen her struggling and helped her. While she was often at odds with their alien allies due to their warlike nature, she did appreciate their willingness to always help out when they same someone in need.

Flustered and out of breath, she caught up to the welcoming party just as the cruiser, reportedly from a parallel universe, began lowering it’s landing ramp.

“I offer many apologies,” she explained sheepishly to the others in slightly broken English, her Norwegian accent unmistakable. “I was working on most fascinating translation and did not hear name be called.”

As she was no expert in quantum physics and would have no idea how the cruiser had gotten here, or how to get it home, Elin assumed her job would be to ensure any form of diplomatic talks went smoothly. After all, she had helped pioneer and broker the treaty with the Troodon’s.

He tired hiding a smile at Hamrick's words on wanting to discover just how Doctor Warren was the top dog rather than him in this reality. The man's eagerness was respected. While he did admit that he was tasked with leading the expedition in their reality, but he didn't own the job as he could easily be replaced by either Bobby, Travis, or just about anyone else. He took it when it was offered to him, after of course much convincing from Bobby. If he had declined, someone else would be standing here today, "Now we have our first differnece, Major," he looked at the Marine, "Doctor Warren is the top dog."

After the opening of the doors. The team made their way towards the group waiting for their arrival. As they walked, Matt noticed creatures among the group. Reptiles? Surely it wasn't dinosaurs. In the realty they hadn't even come across local wild life much. For some reason, he suspected the animals were keeping their distance. He had a team trying to find out why when the ship had set one it's course. Moving closer he recognised them to be Troodons. Rubbing his eyes, he turned to the person next to him, "I'm seeing Troodon's right?" And armed, dressed in similar garbs as the humans. He was sure he wasn't seeing things, if he was, he could put it down to aging.

She flew down the hallway as she barked out orders to the set of Troodon. Running late wasn't what she had in mind, then again she was in the middle of work when the word had come that Doctor Warren was calling most of the senior members of the expedition. Jamie Oxford was never the one to like the late minute orders. She on the expedition as their JAG as well an Commanding officer to an off-world team. Arriving with few seconds to spare, she looked at towards the ship, "Is that...." she trailed off when she spotted her cousin-in-law. Somethings were better left unasked for now.

So much had happened in the past few months that the sudden arrival made little sense. Hearing Doctor Harper, she smiled, "If he is anything like the Matt, I know. He will help." Even for this version she had hold on hope. Next to her, Mr-Sharp-Teeth sounded his agreement, causing Jamie to chuckle.

Steve wondered what had happened to him here. He couldn't imagine having broke up with Blake, no matter what universe it was. But for Blake to have the background for this, clearly they'd never been together, right? "Let's just say I'm worried about the other me, sir."

Sharp-Teeth nodded his head and long neck and grumbled by grinding his teeth at the Dr. Harper. Really, the Blake had no instincts. But Sharp-Teeth had given a promise ten years ago to a dying fellow Marine, in the blood and sand of Fallujah to protect the Blake. Okay, so the original promise had been just to tell him, but Sharp-Teeth had taken it on himself to expand it when he'd met him again in the SGC.

Warren gestured to the ship. "They have way more firepower than we do right now, good enough for me, Isabelle." As his senior archaeologist arrived, Warren nodded to her and spoke her native tongue without thinking about it. "Og det er ikke noe problem, Elin." ((And that's no problem.))

And the visitors disembarked. By voice he recognized Admiral Oxford from the subspace radio, a man he didn't recognize but was willing to guess was a fellow civilian. And Dr. Harper, at least some of the same people were with this group.

Warren nodded at the Admiral's rather incredulous question. "You've never seen dinosaurs before, Admiral?" He said it like someone asking if you'd never seen water before.

Steve walked down from the hanger bay, as it clicked on seeing the unusual security detail. "Your world has living dinosaurs?" He recognized Blake obviously, if different, more worn and more confident at the same time. And Ms. Cooper, she was here too. But, dinosaurs, how much more awesome could you get?

It was the voice that caused Major Sharp-Teeth to squawk and startle in place, his meaning clear to his own humans. 'Steve?!' and Warren was momentarily struck dumb before he gathered himself. This wasn't the time or the place to deal with the old grief that welled for both of them. Warren refused to look at the Marine major standing in front of him and focused on Admiral Oxford. "I believe we can discuss both our situations more comfortably in Vedas' conference room, Admiral. Somebody radio the lab, I need some of our physicists in the conference room. Homo sapiens and Troodon formosus, thanks."

And Steve didn't like the reaction he got from that biggest dinosaur and the alternate Blake. Because he'd seen that look. On his own face when thinking about his father. When exactly had he bought the farm here? But, he could see Blake thinking it, not the time for that discussion.

Seen dinosaurs, oh yes, but not the living and breathing ones. He was hesitant to hold out a hand, in case those sharp teeth moved in to bite. Bleeding to death was not on his agenda while he was here. Averting his gaze from the sharp-pointy teeth that gave the feeling of intimidation, he looked at Warren, "Not a living one," he replied, "in our world they have been long extinct. Only fossils remain." Just how much of this world was different was starting to be more and more apparent, he could see similarities too.

But it was the familiar blond that caught his attention from the corner of his eyes.

Jamie.

Looking at her, anger ignited again at Bobby all over again, composing himself, he nodded at the Doctor, "Lead the way." The base structure was the same as their. He was expecting the interior to be the same as well. But he was taken back at the words; Homo sapiens and Troodon formosus. Simply it was not hear every day. It was going to interesting to see how Troodon's communication when his people. He was still yet to find a way to help them should they help USS Shiva and it's crew. "Doctor Warren, I noticed that your orbit has no ship watching for space activity, why is that?"

He watched as the group made their way out of the ship and towards the group; awaiting their arrival. He wasn't certain how he was meant to help as his field was in history. He wasn't even sure just how they ended up in another reality. Even after he was explain in the layman's terms, the getting here part. Walking with the group he opted to observe the interactions than to participate in it. Given he didn't know many of his own realities people much. He kept the professional level with everyone.

Standing not far, he took a look around. Everything looked the same expected the creatures who were roaming around. He turned his head when Doctor Warren suggested to move the talks to conference room, it was then he move to tap the Admiral's shoulder, and noted he was few seconds too late. "His brother, his call," he told himself as he followed the group.

They had firepower, something they desperately needed. Her eyes scanned over the other Shiva again and she couldn't help but remember the last time she saw their version of the ship.

Harper watched as their guests walked towards them, she recognized Matt, Jamie had shown her a picture a few months back, but the rest of the group were strangers..that is till she saw the shorter woman walking behind the Admiral.

Isabelle watched herself as Dr. Warren spoke to Admiral Oxford; it was like looking in a mirror except the other Isabelle had longer hair and didn't wear glasses. The other woman was staring at Major Sharp teeth like she hadn't seen his kind before, "He won't bite." Harper said moving to walk beside her counterpart as the group moved inside "I really don't know if I should introduce myself to..myself."

When the hell did she, or her other self get the idea to cut most of her hair off? Isabelle Cooper tried to keep herself from staring at...well herself. The other version of herself looked different (besides the hair and glasses) she looked tired, but at the same time she didn't seemed worried about what was going on around her. Unlike Cooper.

Admiral Oxford and Dr. Warren exchanged words a moment before the group started moving inside the base towards the conference room. The other Cooper moved to walk beside her after saying that the dinosaur, Troodons, wouldn't bite. Right, one of them just appeared to show Izzy his full set of sharp teeth.

"I am assuming your name is Isabelle?" Cooper asked looking to Harper as they walked down the halls of the Base, "Sì" she replied in their native tongue. "Dr. Isabelle Harper,sociologist" she added. Izzy stared at herself, so it seemed like his alternate universe of herself decided to go with choices that Izzy herself had decided against. "When did the last name change from Cooper?" Izzy asked, Harper bit her lip as she thought for a moment, "Around eight years ago." She replied, "I take it from you having our maiden name you are still single?" Harper asked. Cooper nodded, "Yes, let me take another guess..based on the last name, you're married to an Army medic?" Another nod from Harper, It was Izzy's turn to bit her lip, other Isabelle may look and sound the same but there were some differences. Big ones. Like when did she get married to Nick Harper and how?

Deep in concentration, Travis hoovered the tiny, tiny rob in his hand over the fishes that were open and closing their mouths. He hadn't played this game in months if not years. The whole game seemed simple enough when wanting to kill time; which the Expedition Adviser had more of then he like to admit. Ordered bed rest by doctors and enforced by the Expedition's Commander, who also just happened to be his older brother. He had grumbled and cusses all way back to med bay after Matt had found him on the Bridge working away - luckily the man some brain by not twisting his ear. Travis was sure urge would have been there. Having a unhappy camper in the elder Oxford wasn't something he enjoyed unless he was making the older man grumble to a point where the Admiral might shoot him.

"Remember," he spoke as he waited for the fish to open it's mouth, "We have a deal if I win this round." He had roped Harper to help him make a jail break from the bay as he wanted to know what the heck transpired in the past few minutes. The rattling of the ship plus more. He just wanted to be nosy. So fat all he had done was give sound advice to whoever came by seeking some, "If I stay any another day or two, I will go nuts."

Lily were going over some medical reports, on the crew onboard the USS Shiva when she found the one that belonged to Travis,  she added a few new details to it with date and time.

When the ship started to shake, and then suddenly stopped.. Lily wondered what had happent.

She heard Travis talking to himself again, normally she wouldn't check on the patients just because they were talking to themselves. But this time she didn't really have anything else to do at the moment, so she took a walk around the medical bay, just to make sure everything was in order.

While walking around the med bay she asked who ever was on the Bridge at this time, over the radio, "Is there anyone on the bridge, that could tell me whats just happent??" she said in a calm but worried tone..

She didn't expect an answer right away, so she stopped by Travis side and asked him "Are you feeling any better??" in a calm and professional tone..

Docking Bay to Conference Room via hallways

Warren nodded at that. The SGC had had contact with other universes before, and according to all the records he'd seen, the continued survival of dinosaurs in their world was a significant outlier. "Ours may be a fluke reality, nobody knows how they survived in comparison to other realities. It's a pity what you're missing out on."

Sharp-Teeth clicked his teeth and growled a bit, hopping slightly in place. "He just mentioned the Great Cave, its their own belief that a mighty being herded many species into the safety of a cave on the Day of Rock Fall."

As they walked, Blake reluctantly explained. It wasn't easy to tell Admiral Oxford this, not knowing if it had happened somehow in their world, too. "USS Shiva was destroyed with survivors during a mission to an Asura prison world to rescue SV-2. They'd been unaware that the Lyrians had followed after leaving their home world, and they allowed survivors to be transported over before the damage was too much for the structural integrity." And the hard part. "Shiva was under the command of Colonel Travis Oxford, United States Army. His last act was operating the Asgard transporters to evacuate the ship and was unaccounted for with the final tally of survivors." It was the gentlest way Warren could manage to say 'dead.'

Steve made another checkmark in his head. At least himself and Colonel Oxford didn't have to worry about ECF. "You said over the radio we weren't going to like your situation, Doctor?" Professional, professional, professional.

"The simplest version, the Asura are on their way to Vedas and about three days from wiping us all off the face of this galaxy, Major." Warren settled back slightly. "Now, just what sort of condition are Shiva's weapons and shields in, Admiral?"

On the way to the Conference Room

Dr. Bennett weaved and dodged around both Human and Troodon, occasionally clearing both out of his way with angry growling. A bulky computer unit was strapped to his chest over the top of his science uniform in a way to let his three long fingers hit the buttons.

At his hatching, he'd been dubbed Good-Hunter-Who-Snaps-At-Others, but had used a human-style name ever since before college, finding that his research papers were taken more seriously when no one could tell the species that had written it.

As he entered the room, he growled a quick acknowledgement to Sharp-Teeth and tapped at the unit on his chest. The voice was computerized and each word distinctly separate. "Exotic particles were detected before Shiva's arrival, possible rift energy. What stupid thing did you do to get here?"

Steve sat up slightly, a little guilty and distinctly offended. "It involved a black hole and a nuclear device."

Warren stepped in before Bennett could offend all their visitors. "This is Doctor Cory Bennett, one of the leading physicists in the Stargate Program."

And Bennett stared with pupils little more than slits surrounded by green and tapped some more, the words punctuated by teeth-grinding grumbling. "I need to see your math."

Nicks eyes flicked up to Travis's as he mentioned the terms of their agreement for the hundredth time in the past hour. He couldn’t help the flash of annoyance as he sighed and looked back down to the game in front of the two men. They both had no idea of how it had ended up on the ship but it was an interesting change after several games of checkers, which lead to chess and after Nick got tired of having hisass handed to him several times they switched to checkers, and then later various card games.

Needless to say that Nick had done his best to keep Travis amused, but that had not stopped the Colonel from “escaping” the medbay and then later a very mad Admiral Oxford dragging him back and giving Harper an ass chewing for the record books. That didn’t stop Travis from finding ways to amuse himself; for example flicking qtips at Nick or anyone else who was close enough, when Nick took away the qtips it was cotton balls.

"If I stay any another day or two, I will go nuts."

Nick gave Travis another look, "You'll go nuts?" he asked looking back up from the little fish, "You..the person who started throwing cotton balls at me at five in the freaking morning is going to go nuts?" he shook his head and looked back down to the little fish. "Are you feeling any better?" Nick didn't look up at Dr. Tuck and kept his focus on making sure he caught the orange fish. "He seems to be so, the bruises on his ribs are not as bad." he told her, keeping his attention on the stupid fish.  "I should have never agreed to this." he muttered.

Doctor Pratt followed the rest of the USS Shiva crew down the boarding ramp to greet their alternate reality counterparts. The first thing that struck him was the differing structure of the group, with Doctor Warren running the show. The second was the reptiles that were accompanying everyone. From what he gathered, the creatures were called Troodons, and they had somehow survived the dying out of all other dinosaurs to develop alongside mankind. By the looks of it, they were being treated as equals.

The implications for Henry’s line of work were mind boggling.

If the Troodons have developed as Henry suspected, there would be a whole second history of the globe, one that ran parallel to human society and culture. Had humans and Troodons always lived in peace, or had one enslaved the other at some point? Had they fought race wars against each other, or had they fought together in civil wars with other counties? Did they have their own countries, or were they part of everyday human society?

The questions were almost overwhelming. The possible answers would have been more so. Curiosity was starting to nag Henry to ask if it was possible to stay in this reality. He trailed along at the rear of the group, unsure where to even start.

Doctor Larsen took a seat at the conference room table, having finally collected her thoughts and files.

The arrival of the cruiser couldn’t have come at a better time - with their own Shiva destroyed and the Asura on the way, things had looked bleak. Not being a military strategist, Elin couldn’t say home much difference a single ship could make, but it was better than having none.

“How have conflict with Asura in your galaxy gone?” Elin asked in her Norwegian accent. “Since we first encounter them, they have swept across galaxy like plague. They were once kept in order by species known as Devas, but they were wiped out a generation ago.” When she had first found evidence of the Devas, it had been a minor glimmer of hope that the expedition could ally with them. A month later, the expedition had been informed of their defeat via a translated temple carving.

Listening as they walked, Matt took a moment to re-analysis the whole situation, and just how different it was between these realities. He had read about them the files of SG-1 and to some extent the Delta Expeditions. When AU Warren mentioned the Ausran Prison rescue, Oxford knew the one he was talking about. While the same happened in their but the members of the Shiva didn't meet the same fate. Hearing of his brothers AU version pained him. He couldn't imagine how his this reality self was taking the news. As he was sure it would break him if anything happened to his version. Yet Travis's last act was soothing, yet still a painful reality of what was out here, "Our Shiva is still here, even ours went to the same rescue to bring back SV-2 and 7. But they never meet the same fate. Colonel Oxford is our chief Adviser as well Combat Strategist. Currently he is med bay recovering from injuries."

"We still have a few warheads left," he told them, "we run out of these, we ain't got more." As one was used to bring them here.

Admiral turned to face a Doctor Larsen, "We have so far one who we consider to be the top dog for now as well few minor ones. However, nothing to the grand scale attack like yours, yet. We are in contact with our versions of the Devas. The one call...." the man's name he couldn't recall.

"Mahadev," Akash supplied, "as well as Narad. We are lucky that we haven't yet have a plague breakout with the enemy." Although that could change in the future, "Doctor Warren, are you able to tell us who is behind this attack of such scale? Perhaps clues left behind might give us a idea on how to defeat them."
