She left the medical staff to oversee the checkup of the members who were affected by the potions that were brought in. She had been looking from the sidelines in the med bay. It was the relief to know that the lock down wasn't needed from this point on. A clearance given by Lieutenant Georgette Woxell-Brooks, who was Gaines XO for Operations. The woman had taken load of work after Gains took over from Lt Colonel Mackenzie.

Arriving in the room, she noted Captain Darren Marshall already present with his team and plus two. Pleased with the results she took Admirals seat, "I hope," she began, "that Captain Marshall updated you with what has happened so far."

The old man nodded, "My name is Sahib. Yes, he has," his greying hair were wild from the winds. He was himself skinny and lanky. My student," he looked at the young man coldly, "Gave the man who called himself Moore," at Vanessa's nod he continued, "wrong potions. The ones he carried have not yet been...."

"Tested," the student spoke in low voice.

"Yes indeed," there was dismissive tone to his words, "I will have to look at them. Cure them.....accordingly. The child might take longer. However, you have my word that her age will be restored in time.

It was not time to cuss at Jack's foolishness, "There is no set time, before it is unreversible?"

"No," Sahib shook his head at the question, "they will be fine. I fix for you."

Vanessa nodded as she got of her feet, "Allow me to lead you to the group."

With Sandra's words Fiala gave nod to have them moved. Time was against them and she understood every second counted. Fiala could hardly believe her eyes on how quickly Warren was going down hill, let alone how long did the others have. Still the base was her main concern so she knew she had to stay on her toes.

" OK, if you think it's safe move them out and keep an eye on ..."

Fiala's face turned red with rage as she finally noticed Tyrone. hid away in a corner on a laptop. With in two foot steps she was with in reach of the laptop, grabbing it she slammed it on to the counter beside her in rage at someone leaving it open. She raised her hand and with in a second the British private had entered and stood by her side. As the private stood over Tyrone, Fiala routed quickly through the laptop to see how much information he had gathered and finally when she had finished she turned to Tyrone. She spoke in a soft caring tone.

" I understand this is difficult, no memory and with things that seem out of this world. But any information you are told or find out will be clouded by what you don't know, in the end clouding your truth and only upsetting you or worse harming your friends cause of your actions." Her tone quickly changed to one that showed she wasn't messing around, "Cross the line again and I'll show you why I got demoted, this Private will from now on be watching your every move. Are we CLEAR sir or do I need to repeat."

Fiala stood up ready to clear everyone out.

As they stood in the infirmary Fiala felt a lot more comfortable with out the Hazard suit and just the mask with gloves. She was surprised on how worried she was becoming of Warren. She stood at the opposite side of the room and when he was finally alone she approached. Standing beside him she placed her hand on his shoulder, she tried to avoid and at least give some contact. She spoke in a soft tone.

" How are we... I won't finish that as I think we know how your feeling. I just want you to know I'm not leaving your side, were still a team and as they say, Teams stick together. Fiala gulped as memories of her own daughter flooded back to her when she was sick. Finally she held his hand hoping it would help. Fiala had watched collages die before, but never to something like this and in such a way.

They wanted her to lay down, she knew it would be more comfortable to her but as long as she could swing her legs off the side of the bed she knew she still had feeling. Least for now..her left leg wasn't as responsive as her right, and her left fingers had stopped responding all together. Patrick had given her an oxgyen mask, though she did not need it like Dr. Warren it was still a precautionary thing. 

"Patrick! Do you have the blood work on Captain Harris?"

Patrick turned his head from the screen he had been looking at, like Sandra's he had medical records and the various tests they were running, though his screen had Captain Harris's instead of Dr. Warrens. "It looks like she is severely deficiant in B12, which could explain the nerve issues." he called back, "Still showing an elevated heart rate, your blood pressure is good, so is the O2 stats."  Kata glanced over his shoulder to the screen, she had never really seen her entire medical history listed, her eyes scanned down the list and she could remember a few incidents very well, especially the one dated the summer before she joined the Atlantis Expedition. The car wreck that killed her dad. 

The computer screen flashed as another report came back, Patrick opened it and frowned, "Have you ever been anemic?" he asked looking to Kata, she shook her head, "My sister is but never me, why what's wrong?". Patrick studied the screen a bit more, his face now grim, "Your blood count is dropping, though not as fast as Warrens, it could just be a nothing." he said with a shrug. Kata wasn't convinced.

"Do I worry now or later?" she asked as she kept swinging her legs, "Both." Patrick replied flatly, "If this keeps up and we don't find a way to fix it you will either become paralyzed or suffocate when you stop carrying oxgyen." Talk about a bedside manner. Better to get to the point rather than dance around the topic. Kata nodded and Patrick moved away from her and towards Sandra, reaching her he gently pulled her aside, "Her nervous system to breaking down and she's showing signs of an.." he paused thinking of a word to use, "Agressive form of anemia, though not as bad Warrens."

Nikki settled the tiny Bille on the bed as the young child munched on a cookie given to her as promised. For not crying when the needle work was being done. The Navy Officer sat on the bed, oblivion to the clamour around her. Kicking her legs in the air and eating cookie. Watching the grown ups working away. Green bean was well still green. The scary man still didn't know who he was. Then there was another lady (Skala) with funny talking, which made her giggle. The one who had carried her was around too. All were busy in grown up talks. She didn't have much to do.


The nice lady had taken her blood samples and whatever else she needed and told her to stay here and not run around. She was going to be a good girl and listen.

Now that she been sitting here for a while, she was starting to get a little cold. The big shirt she wore didn't do much to keep the cold away. Seeing the pillow, Bille crawled over, her sticky hand left marks on the bed like a trail and dived under the covers. With no one to keep her company and her stuff toy back home in her room. As it was way past her nap time, Billie settled in for a nap that might come soon.

Blake removed his uniform jacket to look morosely at his clearly turning blue hands and arms. "I look like an anthropologist-shaped blueberry, Lieutenant." At least the undershirt was complimenting his skin.

Blake squeezed back on her hand, before pulling his back awkwardly. "I just, damnit, I always figured for the past couple of years if anything was fixin' to kill me, I'd at least have Steve beside me."

He scrubbed blue hands over an equally blue face and ruffled up his hair. But smiled at Fiala. "Thanks for being here."

Sandra came pushing a medium-sized device ahead of her. "If you would relax, I'm going to run a cannula. This is an oxygen concentrator, it should help your ability to breathe. If you get worse, I'll have to start an oxygen tank."

As she prepped the hose, a miserable Blake looked at Skala. "Could you get me a pen and paper, please, Lieutenant?"

Of course, he wasn't alone in 'this could be the big one' land. Anemia, it made sense. He gave Captain Harris a small wave before holding still for the uncomfortable process of the cannula being placed.

And yeah, he might not be the best in the world with small children, and wouldn't dare bring it up once Lieutenant Witwer was back to normal, but she was a cute kid. While he was looking at the half-asleep little girl, he spoke to Skala. "I never really thought about having one of those, ain't the easiest thing when you're like me. God, is this what you think about when you might be out for it? I mean, the general you, not you you. More like you me than you you."

Before the laptop had been taken away from his, Tyrone had managed to access his own personnel file and find out some interesting information about himself. His last name was Gaines, he was a Major (which he assumed was a good thing), he was leader of an exploration team here on the base, and once upon a time ago he'd flown a machine that was able to drop bombs on people from great heights. While it wasn't clear from the records, he assumed that he'd only dropped them on bad people. No one around him was acting evil, and if he was one of them, it followed that Tyrone himself wasn't evil either. The people he'd hurt must have had it coming.

He was digging further and further when Speaks-funny came over and violently took the laptop from him, threatening him with harm and ordering a guard to watch him. This time, Tyrone couldn't help but narrow his eyes at her. He held his tounge though. At present, it was just simplier to keep to himself until he got his bearings.

He and the other infected patients were moved to an isolation area within the infirmary for closer observations. The equipment here was different. While the machines in the laboratory had all looked very technical, the ones here were more obviously designed for use on people. He concluded that this was the part of the base where people were brought to be made better. That was a promising sign.

An elderly man and a younger boy were bought into the room. Neither of them dressed the same as the rest of the base personnel, and they spoke in a strange manner. From what he overheard from Brown-hair, who seemed to be in charge, these two were responsbile for everyone's current condition. For a moment, a flash of rage came over Tyrone. He immediately resented the two newcomers for taking away his memories. While Brown-hair seemed to trust them, Tyrone couldn't be sure of their motives.

The young man approached Tyrone, and with a bow, introduced himself as a student of Sahib. Tyrone had a million questions burning inside him, but again, held his tounge. He wasn't sure what to say until he had a better idea of what had caused his memories to go away. After apologising profusly for causing his memory loss, the student handed Tyrone a stone cup filled with a coloured liquid. It was giving off an aweful smell, and did not look appealling at all.

"Drink, and you will be cured," the student explained.

Not waiting to be told twice, Tyrone threw back his head and drank the potion in a single mouthful.

Fiala sat there for a second in silence as her mind raced with answers to his question, ones which sounded so sweet it might lift his spirits and other which scared even her and letting of a quick joke was one way she hoped to relax herself.

" I would of said you looked like a smurf to be honest,"

Fiala took a breath before leaning in a little bit closer, trying her best to keep what she said between them.

" Been there and had the regrets but I came from the other side of the coin, had the child and looked for death. I have so many regrets to be honest Blake. It seems like another life time now and yet." Fiala edged her head a bit closer," Between you and me, I never wanted her then. I had one importance and that was me and not Zdenka, that's her name. Now I will do anything for her and than all I had now my mind was well what street scum looked for. I ran then when I finally could," Fiala took a breath as she taught carefully her next words, " We'll wait till death is dancing on your gravestone cause I've seen his face and your not done yet not by a long shot. That means stop speaking as if this could be it. Make plans for a future and not a grave."

Fiala sat back to her position still having memories of when her child was sick, this time she spoke normal " Was never keen on hospitals they scare the hell out of me, give me a second, I'll get paper for you and when I get back I want to know how you twos got together and what names you want to name your kids." Fiala could only hope she could raise his spirits and distract him.

Blake had to laugh. "But I'm too big for a smurf, Lieutenant! Have you ever seen a six-foot-tall smurf?"

And it helped, this was not going to be it. "You're right, you are absolutely right. And just between us, lips are sealed." And it looked like help had arrived.

"So, never mind, I'm going to live to tell him what I would have written. Well, this is so stereotypical it hurts, but we met at Burkhart's, it's a gay bar in Atlanta. Steve was stationed about three hours away in Albany, far enough away to not get caught by one of his Marines, you know, Don't Ask Don't Tell back then in 2001." Blake looked down, blushing. "I spent half the night watching him before I had enough liquid courage to ask him to dance. I mean, everybody knew what kind of bar it was, but he was so obviously military it hurt and I didn't want to get punched halfway across the bar. I was in love from the beginning, it took Steve a little longer I think."

Sandra had a sample of the visitor's cure and was doing tests against Blake's blood sample. And it looked the blood chemistry changes were reversing under the microscope. She wanted to be sure before letting Harris and Warren take it, unlike Gaines just diving in. "Patrick, come look at this. I think they've got something."

After arriving, Vanessa had quietly and patiently let the man and his student work as the two studied those who were effected. Giving them a look on her own, she noted that most were coping fairly well, but it was Gaines who worried her a little. She did hope that the memory loss didn't have a long term effect on the man. The others weren't as bad. Witwer was ready to be out like light.

The visitor's made their way around the group, giving potion to those they could treat. As the older man freely scolded his student for this mess, while not in English, but in their local delicate. The body language spoke volumes to her.

Allowing them to drink it, Sahib joined her, "I stand correct," he told her in whisper, "I will have to work on a potion to treat the child. Nothing in my knowledge will treat her properly right now. I will have to look at the potions again to ensure she is given a correct one. The others will be good as new. They were easy to treat as the symptoms have been seen before. I have never came across someone de-aging to such age or at all."

Vanessa nodded, "I understand," she spoke, "We will look after her till then. If you can get someone to supply cloths for the child, we will be grateful."

"Yes, of course" the old man bowed and let his gaze travel to his student, to see if he was done. He would see to the suitable punishment for him. Such mistakes would not be repeated. Bottles would need to be changed as would their designs.

Patrick moved to look over Sandras shoulder, "So the antidote works...least those guys got something right." that was good news, hopefully whatever the shamen and his student were handing out worked quicker than whatever had first contaminated everyone. 

Kata had lost feeling in her legs and her left hand had a weird twitch to it, a young man approached her bed carrying a cup, she knew he wasn't apart of the expedition so he must be with the Shaman. "I am deeply sorry for this happening." he told her with a bow, "This will help." he told her as he held out the cup to her. She took it with her non twitchy hand and sniffed the liquid inside only to cringe away like a child not wanting to take their cough medicine. "It smells like robitissin." the student seemed confused, "Another medicine." she told him before she tossed back the nasty smelling stuff. 

Surprisingly. It didn't taste all that bad. The twitching in her hand stopped almost immediately, Patrick came back to her bed and looked at the now empty cup in her hand, "I was coming to tell you to go head and take it, but you already took care of that." Kata shrugged, "She will be fine soon." the student said before nodding to the two of them and walking off. She looked over to the other bed where little Witwer was...sleeping, "Why isn't she getting anything?" she asked looking back to Patrick. The young medic sighed, "Apparently reverse aging is not something they have encountered before, so it will take time for them to figure out how to fix it." 

"Say again?" 

Patrick nodded to Witwer, "She will probably stay that size for a while, I don't know how long." he told her again, Kata knew how little kids could be, she had been around her nephews enough and heard it from her siblings to know that kids came with scheduels and things to keep them occupied till the next time they either ate or slept. So far Barbie had been a good kid, minus the screaming eariler in the lab, so really how hard could it be for them to keep an eye on her till she was put back to normal?

Blake took a cautious sniff of the offered cure, but considering the oxygen concentrator was barely helping, he'd take it. "Robitussin, Captain? More like my baby brother's moonshine."

And since the medics seemed to have agreement of a working cure from their trade partners, Blake drank from the small cup, reminded of the urgency of the situation by his blue skin that seemed to be transitioning into the one color that would be worse than his current dark blue.

And yeah, the blue was changing from royal blue to powder blue as Blake finished the local cure.

And it burned about as much as Daniel's worst home brew efforts, making Blake cough a bit as he swallowed all of it.

He looked at the mini-lieutenant, no immediate cure for her. The base could handle one small child for a few days, right?

Right?

Sandra watched as the blue got lighter, down through what she figured would be called powder blue and baby blue and looked to be returning to the anthropologist's normal coloring.

"I'd like you to hang out for a couple more hours with the oxygen concentrator to make sure your body chemistry is completely normalized, but you are looking better."

As the doctors came to Warrens side Fiala saw that as her quo to leave, with a light tap to his Fiala stood up and spoke.

" If you need anything, just call."

With them words Fiala left Warrens side leaving him in good hands and making her way across the room. By now the strangers had made there way around the room to each person and with hope everyone would soon be cured. The main plus was the smurf had become almost human again, but some cures would take time and then there was Tyrone. As she stood over him she nodded to the guard watching over him for his own protection to let him know he was relieved. Fiala couldn't even imagine what it was like to loose to memory, what she did know was that she needed to stay on her toes and try to help.

" How we feeling Major? Are we begin to remember who we are yet?," Fiala placed her hands by her side as if ready to take orders. " My regrets if you feel I'm been a bit cold towards you but the base and its people are my main concern."

Tyrone drank the medicine offered to him in one mouthful. The student offered a bow before moving along, which the Major repeated back to him.

Finding a quiet corner, Gaines sat down and waited for the potion to do its thing. Thinking about it, he wasn't sure what he was expecting. Would his memories flood back to him like a wave crashing on a beach? That seemed like a horrible experience. From what he'd found while looking himself up on the base database, he'd had a very full and active life, and would no doubt have endless memories to reawaken. He'd also done some horrible things and killed a lot of people as a bomber pilot, some of them innocent from what he'd read in his old mission reports. How would he go remembering experiences like that?

Looking around the room, he noted that the others were likewise being given potions by the witch-doctor and his student. Green-veins, who he'd overhead someone call Blake, was starting to return from his shade of blue to a more normal colour. Baby-girl was receiving extra attention, and by the sounds of it, her recovery would take a bit longer. Knows-much and Brown-hair seemed much happier with everyone's medical condition now that Sahib and his understudy had attended to them.

Speaks-funny approached Tyrone, and apologied for her behaviour earlier. "It's fine, you did what was right," he replied. "And I can, err, yes, feel my memories starting to report."

Looking around the room, Tyrone continued to watch as the rest of the base personnel returned to normal.

As Lieutenant Skala walked away, Blake gave her a goodbye wave and flopped down on the hospital bed.

His hands behind his head, as he tried not to mess with the nasal cannula. If the nurse wanted to keep him for a couple of hours, well, Blake would just let himself get a nap in. It wasn't like he didn't feel pretty wiped by the whole ordeal.

But before he'd let himself fall asleep, and yeah, Steve would think it was pointless but he did it anyway. His eyes were closed as he muttered quietly under his breath, a prayer for everyone on Vedas Base, everyone missing on Shiva, everyone in harm's way.

As he opened his eyes, he rolled on his side and gave Captain Harris a thumbs up before letting his eyes close to get some restoring sleep.

As Sahib and his puple went back to keeping an eye on those who had been affected for a little longer mostly keeping tabs at Moore for longer. Vanessa had taken the time to go and see the sleeping pre-schooler who was warmly bundled in bed. It had been a while since she had interacted with children of this age. Last she remembered was talking to the tiny Brandon Oxford at Jerry's wedding. By now she suspected that the boy was grown and turning into a fine young man, at least she hoped that Bobby wasn't rubbing off on the kid. Tucking the blankets around Billie, Vanessa began to move towards Gaines, not along after Skala had left. But checked on the others as she went towards the leader of the SV-2.

Seeing Blake, "How you feeling now, Doctor Warren?" she asked. As she visually inspected him over. She was surprised that other than James, Blake was another who was able to keep up with the Captain Snarky. She was sure there was a trick when it came to the Guards officer. After hearing his response, she nodded, "Just don't overdo." Or she would drag him into her office to make sure he was sane.

Catching Harris's line of sight, "Your muscles getting better?" she inquired. Knowing it wasn't easy to stay calm. But the pilot had done it. Vanessa had been glad for that.

Finally she reached Gaines, just as Sahib approached her, "I leave," he bowed, "Much work to be done to bring the child to her rightful age. Might take time."

"Don't worry," Delta Veteran assured the old man, "she is in good hands. She is safe. We will keep an eye on her." And gestured for some of the SF's to escort the duo to the gate. Young Billie appeared to be an adventurous one. There were chances the tiny girl would have whole base doing her biding. Vanessa did pay a good amount of cash to see Billie get Bobby dancing to her tunes.

Facing the Major again, she looked at the man carefully, "Remember anything Major?"
