Laboratory
Blake sighed. Witwer, or at least the child she'd regressed into, reminded him distinctly of his younger brother Daniel as a little kid.
14-year-old Blake had detested being followed around by his 4-year-old brother.
He tried to be reassuring. "It's okay, I promise I'm a nice, green person." And rather uselessly tried to scrub his hands against the uniform trousers, even though the coloring was clearly in the skin. "At least you seem unaffected, Captain. I'm, not exactly good with kids. Right, cookies, all kids like cookies. Can we get somebody to hit up the mess?"
A tap on his shoulder caught Blake's attention from the seemingly-unaffected Harris and the miniaturized Witwer. He turned around to Major Gaines, as the man asked a very disturbing question.
Not. Happening. This wasn't happening. But he tackled it, feeling a little wary of somebody with military training and seeming memory loss. "You're in a laboratory on base, and we've all been exposed to some chemicals."
And he went for a lab stool, and even that much movement soon made Blake feel winded as he dragged it toward Gaines. "Here, you sit down on this and tell me what you can remember."
He leaned on the counter and made a distinct effort to breath while looking at the veins and skin of his hands. And there was definitely a color shift going on.
Oh he was not. Blake looked up at the other clear-headed member of the group, as he could see a purple hue just barely starting to take up and spread. "Do you think the lieutenant watched Barney as a child, Captain? All of us, need to get to the infirmary and the Ancient diagnostics."
