Personality: Liam is stern, but fair, as a soldier he is disciplined and honest, he is also a devout Catholic and as such he has a strong moral compass. He only shoots to defend himself and only when he has no option left him. He is quick to defend his faith, but is never mean about it. However, it always irks him when people act like he is close minded just because of his faith.



At the same time, he is unflappable, not prone to getting rattled easy. That being said, bees are the one thing that really gets him, something that stems from a childhood incident when a bee stung him. Liam is also strong willed and bullheaded, never giving up until a task is done. On the other hand, Liam's bullheadedness has caused a few people to label him as "hard to work with." Those who know Brian well know that is not the case and say that he as easy to get along with. The main thing that drives him is his sense of adventure, something he doesn't want to lose.

History: Born in the rugged countryside of West Virgina, Liam was exploring from the moment he could crawl.  While growing up, Liam was introverted at first, until his older brother Patrick introduced him to football when he was seven.  Liam was unsure at first, but soon opened up and took to the sport, starting off as a running back, but soon moving to quarterback.  At the same time, he got into swimming and later on got into water polo, becoming an attacker in that sport.  By the time he got into high school, Liam was captain of his school's football and water polo teams.  At the same time, he was also involved in his church and scout group.  Liam attended several World Youth Day events, which only strengthened his faith.

 It was during one of these trips that he met his girlfriend Sadie.  In his scout group, Brian proved himself to be a natural leader, being named patrol leader when he was 15. While in the scouts, he earned many different badges, including orienteering, communication, citizenship, astronomy and outdoor survival.  It was around this time that Liam found out about his grandfather's time in the military during the Second World War. While talking with his grandfather, Liam  learned that he served in the Army and fought in some of the heaviest fighting. Intrigued, Liam read up about the army and knew that was what he wanted to do when he was older. This decision surprised his family when he told them, but they quickly supported Liam when they saw how passionate he was about it. At the same time, they agreed on the condition that he get a college degree after he passed basic training, which Liam agreed he would do.  Upon graduating from high school, Liam, along with Sadie, enlisted into the U.S. Army.  After graduating from basic, Liam went into Infantry training while Sadie went to Texas in order to be a medic.  After infantry training, Liam went into the army's airborne school and then onto the army's special forces, were he would be made a weapons sergeant and hand to hand combat expert due to his training in Hurricane Combat Art and skill in the Army Combatives system.  During all of this, he managed to get a degree in leadership via distance learning.  After getting the degree, Liam went through the Army's K-9 handler's course, being paired up a male German Shepard named Shadow.

Once he completed the course, Liam and Shadow returned to Liam's SF team where they served as a detection/ search and rescue team. Not long after rejoining the team, Shadow was met with skepticism by the other guys in the squad, until Shadow showed his worth by alerting them to ambush during a mission South America.  After that, no one doubted or questioned Shadow's spot on the team.  It was during this time that Brian became aware of the SGC, never guessing he would be called up.   While on base one day,  Liam's commander called him  over and informed him that he and Shadow were tapped for the Stargate program  Liam was surprised, but accepted the posting and soon found himself, along with Shadow, at Stargate headquarters.  Once he got there, Liam  learned that himself and Shadow were assigned to the Vedas Expedition.

Role Play Sample:
Liam laid on the bed that was provided for him after arriving at  SGC headquarters. Shadow was on the floor next to him, asleep at this time. The room was quiet, except for the faint sound of conversations coming from down the hall. At the moment, Liam was thinking about his girlfriend Sadie, who he found out was in the Stargate program as well.  After a while, he got up and carefully walked out of the room. After closing the door, he turned and walked down the hall.  As he walked, the boots he wore made heavy footfalls on the tile floor. At the same time, he started to think more about this Stargate that he was told about. He found it hard to comprehend that a large circular gate found during a dig in Egypt back in the 1920s was older then Earth and had the ability to transport people across the galaxy. Liam would have to see and experience this for himself.

After a while, Liam walked down a second hall and found Sadie checking to make sure her med kit was fully stocked.  Liam just stood in the doorway and watched her, his arms folded over his chest.  After a few seconds, Sadie realized some one was watching her, she stopped and looked back, seeing Liam.  "Hello" Liam said to her.  "Hey Liam" Sadie replied before walking over to him.  Both of them were the same rank so there was no problem with them being together.  "I was rather surprised to find out that you were brought into this program." Liam said to her.  "Ditto Liam" Sadie replied, that famous grin of her's on her face as she said that, Liam loved it when she did that.  After glancing around them, Liam looked back at Sadie, then quickly kissed her, causing Sadie to giggle softly.  "You know what will happen if we get caught doing this while on duty." she said to him.  Liam smiled a bit, "I know" he replied.  Sadie shook her head as he grinned a bit.  "I'll let you finish, see you after we get off." Liam said to her.  Sadie nodded, then got back to work.  Liam watched her walk off, then headed back to check on Shadow.
