Aear just grinned at Lequana. It wouldn't be the first time someone's electrocuted me. Say if I direct it towards the ground with my tail would that help at all? He said adding a suggestion to help Lequana. He still felt bad that he'd caused so much trouble with something so simple. It just didn't feel right to be doing nothing to help.

Aear bent down and motioned Lequana to get on his back. This way she'd have her hands free and would be able to see where they were going. Well when I was on Earth, their homeworld, they seemed... I dunno in some ways they werent all that different from Meowtians. Maybe it's a different area, they have their planet divided into nations. But what i've seen from the expedition that came here... It's difficult for me to say anything but yes and to be honest their becoming something of a pain. I know they mean well and they are a very young civilization... said Aear giving his views on the Tau'ri. Aear gave a pause for a moment whilst he thought about what to say next amd how to say it.

They have a long history of violence and war and some of the things they've done just to each other makes me seriously wonder about them. BUT I know that they have a amazing ability for kindness as well and that's why i've always tried to get my people to at least try to point them in the right direction. Not that the Empire is perfect mind you, I have my issues as well.

Got it. don't touch the nanites. I'd put up a barrier to prevent it but that would make things worse. Say how about I put up an AMF?.. Anti-Magic field. It might help. he said realising Lequana also knew nothing about magic. He was going to have to get used to constantly explaining magic and how it worked. He was far more used to being around magic users.

Mac heard Aear's voice over the radio. Had he REALLY just told her to shut up?! He was OK to disagree with an order, but insubordination of this sort was fodder for Captain's Mast. She raised an eyebrow, and replied.

I said NEGATIVE, Charter. Back down now, or it WILL be trouble for you. Double back here. Telion is fine. She was moving fast, following behind the captor and Koren. She would take care of this herself if she had to.

Lequana held to Aear, not liking this idea at all and finding it a bit too uncomfortable but she didn't want to seem weak minded . She listened to Aear's words and replied ," I can say my race were not the perfect example either, when my people finally discovered there immune system was killing them half are world had died my plagues . Then came the Shallow War, you see my people fled the towns of the original homes to follow what the Tau'ri call a Cult of The savor Ja'run . He promised a way to live and to still ascend to the higher life . The nanities in the body with out access to the brain, the remaining standing states seen this as a unholy crime to the body so started a war . The war went bad at first for The savor Ja'run but slowly the enemy died from there own body and he took advantage by killing them while they lay in there beds ready to die . My people come from a violent past too, but that does not mean I have to be violent or you to a matter of fact . But these Tau'ri, I think I'll need more convincing . There are still a few who I feel would throw me to the Racu if they had the chance, like that one Fiala Skala she has not let me go toilet with out an security guard been present . Is are commander or Koran any different . Between you and me I think Skala is a ruka to put it nice . "

Lequana and Aear talking helped distract herself from the pain .

With Lequana on his back Aear moved into a brisk jog. His military training taught him to keep fit and his nanites help. Lequana wasn't all that heavy anyways. He made sure to hold her so that she wouldn't fall but was mindful of her "beauty spots" all the same. He wasn't entirely sure if Lequana was going to be able to keep up at this pace even if she hadn't been slowed. It wouldn't be long till they reached Koren.

Aear heard Mackie's voice is his head where he'd routed the radio signal. It looked like Koren was helping the woman after Aear had shot her and with her fear gone she was starting to realise that they weren't here to harm her. Yugata... said Aear breathing a sigh of relief. He couldn't be sure Mackie wouldn't still try something. If the woman was part of the Empire, even after what had happened, Mackie would be risking a war and Aear could only go on the assumption that the woman's people operated on the same principles. Besides, he couldn't just let Mackie kill her, assuming that was what she was planning. Aear stopped for a moment as a flicker of anger as Mackie irritated him ran through him, heating his body a little.

Mackie, I said no. We're almost there and we have to situation under control. Like I told the Admiral; I'm not following stupid orders. If i have to defend that woman from you then I will. That's all there is to say so I'm turning this system of now. Aear said over the radio calmly. He shoot Mackie if he had to.

Aear started moving again listening to Lequana. He was glad he'd cleared up the misunderstanding but he could sense he'd have to prove himself to her. He didn't really care what people thought about him, if they thought of him as cold and ruthless than that was fine with him. That being said, he didn't dislike the idea of having friends either, he didn't have any friends. He had his sisters, he had teammates, comrades and work colleagues. But he didn't have anyone he felt he could call a friend. Actually did his sisters count? He trusted them at least. For that matter did he really know what a friend was?

If it was me I probably would have been on Ja'run's side. I mean that or extinction to me is a no-brainer. But I do understand the other side., I do admire people like that. People like you. People who will put your lives on the line for what you believe in. For example, back there you decided to be defiant and say no knowing that I could have just as well attacked you and just moved on. To be fair, do that when one of my sisters are out there and I will. I admire that strength, I just can't do that sort of thing. I can't be a pacifist. If taking a life saves more lives than I'll take the life. But then I've been that person that you're afraid I'll turn into... And I don't ever want to go back there.

Aear stopped talking for a moment and slowed down a little. He still felt guilty for his role in Olanzi, they always defended it with preventing Project Trident being rebuilt but like he had told Harrison; they had just wanted to hurt them. Aear stopped for a moment, inhaled and exhaled and moved forwards again. The two people that I've seen trying to get along with my people are Fee and Doc Harrison. Fee reckons Fiala's quite nice, I think she's just trying to do a job and with our nanites they just don't trust us. Something about a bad run in with nanites and their people. Fee's quite timid but she does have a fire in her if you push her into a corner. She's been through quite a bit though, it's probably why. She seems to be a good judge of character but we'll see. She also trusts Koren, which is kind of odd since she seems to be like Chiqui-chin and dislike males, also makes it odd that she's trying to trust me. Koren looks like he's treating the cut I gave the woman as well so this misunderstanding might be over soon. As for our C.O... She seemed pretty level headed in our last missions but I guess pressure brings out your true self. When she tries to tell me off or however she plans on reprimanding me she's gonna get a piece of my mind. I don't care if she's in charge. Running in all guns blazing is fine when you're on the frontlines and at war, believe me I know, but in peace time your risk starting wars and getting people killed unnecessarily. The Admiral's gonna get an earful as well, he needs to keep his people in line. Hold on.

Aear was one to speak honestly, he didn't like lying unless it was absolutely necessary. Besides it would help Lequana and himself settle in. In some ways they were the same and in others the opposite. Aear sped up when he told Lequana to hold on. They were almost there just down this ridge and they'd be able to see Koren and his new friend. They could find a less reckless way down but this would put them ahead of Mackie so they could protect the pair below. Aear tightened his grip on Lequana and jumped, they slid down the ridge, Aear using his tail to balance, until they were just about to hit the bottom where Aear pushed himself off landing quite gracefully. He was kinda a cat after all. He let Lequana down gently, she was probably a bit shaken from Aear's acrobatics and moved slowly over to over to the woman his hands up to show he wasn't a threat. We're not here to harm you. We just want to make sure our teammate is safe. Lequana could you make sure she's ok? I did shoot at her. Mackie's on her way so I might need to protect her. Said Aear moving between the woman and the direction Mackie was coming in from.

[Chima Form] Chimed Cyleo as Aear's double bladed sword turned into energy and collected in his right hand before forming his triple-barrelled shotgun styled weapon. Really it was a mana-phasic cannon but neither the locals or the Earthicans we're going to realise that. Please don't make me shoot you down Mackie. Said Aear quietly to no one in particular. He stared up into the air letting his mind wander a little but keeping his weapon aimed at Mackie. He couldn't see her yet but his telemetry was telling him where she was and where she was coming in.

Mac was in deep now. She knew that with Koren being taken essentailly hostage, she was now vulnerable. However, Mac posessed two very important things-a vast knowledge of hand-to-hand combat, and a passion for life she tried to keep tamped down. Both of those would be essential to ensure her safety. She hoped. They had so far-after almost thirty two years of hard knocks, she was still alive, after all.

She was a bit annoyed at Aear, but at the moment, she had bigger fish to fry. Like a huge shark attack in the form of strange villagers. She moved ahead, quickly, stalking off in the direction that the woman had taken Lt. Telion. She was alert, but not overly so. Just enough to keep her on her feet, so to speak. As she moved forward about fifteen feet, she could hear Aear.

Please don't make me shoot you down Mackie. Mac narrowed her coffee-colored eyes. Let him TRY it. She wondered how quickly she could convince the Oxfords to hold an Admiral's mast, because she was DYING to hold someone, to have a trial, and Aear was pushing himself into that corner. She just ignored him, and continued forward, her eyes sweeping the horizon for any type of sign. Suddenly, a beacon appeeared.

Aear's ears flicked as he heard someone moving through the undergrowth. He moved some nanites into his eye and scanned the area. Mackie's magical signature. She was really going to push this. Did she think he was joking? There were lives on the line and he was going to protect them. Mackie could yell at him later if she wanted, she could hand him over to the admiral. But he was Meowtian and on a Meowtian mission. He didn't have to answer to them. The on,y person he had to answer to was the Empress.

Aho ka? said Aear firing off a warning shot. Straight past her ear. He wasn't going to miss a second time. He'd knock her out if he had to. What in the Black Sea was she thinking?

Lequana stood back on to her feet still trying to distract herself from her pain she felt . She wanted to sit down but knew with out a doubt she'd have trouble getting back on to her feet . As Aear stood his ground he ask Lequana to help the lady, to which she realised two major problems and for one she knew next to little about first aid plus second was the electric current running of her nanties which could cause problems with touching her .

" Aear small problem, I still have a current running thru my body so I don't think it be advised for me to touch her . Lower your weapons against the commander, but stand your ground with words . I'm guessing she can do little harm against you and if your in front of the lady she can hardly shoot her can she . Well ."

Aear's ears flicked again as Lequana spoke. Maji ka? asked Aear spinning round the frustration clear in his voice. He closed his eyes and breathed out slowly, he needed to ground himself before things got out of hand. Suma. Aear apologised lowering his weapon and moving over to the woman. im gonna close the wound with a healing spell. Aear informed the woman a small white magic circle forming just off his hand. In a few moments he'd closed the wound enough so that it wouldn't open up again too easily. You'll have to be a big careful since I'm not as good as Kana. My shot by the way, from my angle it looked worse than it was. Gomen. said Aear glancing over at Koren. His ears however pointed back at Mackie, keeping an eye on her. She was going to take this situation out of hand if she wasn't careful. He wasn't afraid to knock her out if he had to.

Mac's training was kicking in, and caution was in the wind as her Marine's training kicked in. She wouldn't leave a man behind, but nowhere in her oath did it say she couldn't leave a cat behind. Even if said man was Air Force, he was still a comrade at arms, while the cat man was an alien, and as far as she was now concerned, as much of an alien as the race of people holding her wing man hostage. She was in a combat zone, as every fiber of her being said, and she fully intended to behave as such.

She saw Aear fire towards her, and she reacted by falling to the ground, in a prone position, and preparing to return fire. He stopped, and turned away, and she dropped her weapon. She busied herself, quickly gathering a pile of stones, making a makeshift "jail" with a circle of stones. He was in for it, and she would shoot-to-injure if she had to. Not to kill, but to stop him long enough to extract Koren and gate back.

She moved foward, her task complete, reholstering her weapon, towards the beacon. She had a different idea, maybe something that would diffuse this mess before one or all of them ended up dead or maimed. She raised her radio.

Charter, Ka'ti. Move in the direction of Lt. Telion. DO NOT fire. I am going to investigate this becon. If I do not return, you are to gate back by dusk tomorrow. She might be on a suicide mission-it was hard to tell yet.

Aear listened to Mac's every movement. The way she dropped when he fired. Mackie was obviously well trained. Yet she changed her direction. Aear had muted his radio bypass, Lequana's was working however and her doc orders came through loud and clear. Now what was she doing? Aear looked at the woman calculating his own moves. Was Mackie trying to egg herself killed now? He'd already told her he'd detected a group of people or at least what seemed to be people.

Aear had Cyleo push out a mana cartridge and placed it on the woman's clothing. Chima Weave Aear voiced out the incantation fusing it to a piece of clothing that she wouldn't want to take off. If you even think about hurting either of them I'll detonate it. Aear said out of the others earshot before standing up and heading over to Lequana forming and handing over the same gun he'd given her earlier. im gonna make sure she doesn't do something stupid. If you need a lethal shot aim at hag cartridge. said Aear before judging from Lequana's expression. I said if. Would you rather I blinded her arms too her body? Look as far as we know she's still hostile. Just count yourself lucky she's not a magic user.

With that Aear took a few steps towards Mackie's destination then turned and looked over the group he was leaving, Lequana had a way with words and he was confident they wouldn't have to use his solution but he'd rather they had an option. Somewhat confident that they'd be safe a magic circle appeared beneath Aear, he was going to recon from the air, he'd be easy to spot but it wasn't like anything could get any worse right?

[Striding Forth] Aear's dodging spell propelled him into the air like a rocket into the air. He was probably the only person in the Empire to use such a spell like this, it cost quite a bit of mana do launch like that but that wax Aear.

[Koren Telion]

Koren began to walk. He knew what would happen now; his dysfunctional SG team would leap into immediate action, doing...something to try to get Koren out of this predicament, and knowing Aear's defensiveness and Mac's military record, he had a feeling it wouldn't be long till he was free of the female who was holding him. He waited as they walked for a few minutes, hoping the female would say something so Koren could pinpoint more of her motives, but she remained stoic. Koren reasoned that she probably didn't intend to kill him unless he became a liability, so he risked a question.

"Where are we going?"

"What did I tell you?" She said calmly from behind him.

"Sorry," He said, shrugging his shoulders, "I'm a chatty person."

"How unfortunate," Said the female, unamused. A silence hung over the two of them as they walked.

"Well," Koren hazarded again, "At least tell me if I'm a prisoner of war or what?"

"Koren," Said the female, a slight grin in her voice, "If it were a different time, a different place, maybe even just different circumstances, I would love to get to know you better." She left the statement there, her meaning clear that this was not the time nor place for a chat, but Koren was curious; her latest comment was something he was not expecting from the clearly trained mercenary that she most likely was, and Koren, against his and probably his friends, better judgement had to know more.

"What do you mean by that?" He asked, stopping and half turning towards her. The female paused and sighed.

"From everything I've seen and heard, Koren, you sound like a pretty great guy, but the way things are now, were just on different sides." Koren's heart started pounding. Different sides? Koren wasn't aware SGV was on a side; they'd tried to be a neutral as possible since arriving, but they were met with unfortunate events everywhere they went...unless...

"Do we have to be?" Koren asked, turning towards her, getting his first good look at his captor. She was covered in a series of metallic platings that made up a suit of armor that fit to her form decently well and kept her mobile, Koren surmised. Underneath the armor was a black, leather-like material covering her entire body, holding the armor in place and reducing the noise of the moving parts of the armor. At the head, it ended in a hood which she had pulled back to reveal her face. To Koren's surprise, she had gentle, soft features and auburn bangs and hair that was long and combed back and tucked into her suit at the neck. She had blazing brown eyes (something Koren had never seen) as she brought her eyes up and locked gaze with Koren.

"For now, yes. If you survive..." She shrugged, seemingly uninterested, "...depends on a lot of things."

Suddenly, Koren's mind split open and words came pouring through, "Korey, I can see what's going on." Aear's voice was louder than the world around him, and he turned around and continued walking to cover the pain on his face from the telepathy, "I'd land one of the bullets into her but I think it's best you keep her talking. You can do that right?"

Koren thought, "Yes?" Then immediately, "Is this how I am supposed to-" But Aear's voice cut him off;

"We're going to need to move quite quickly. My bullets are still covering you but try not to get separated." Suddenly it was gone, and the world returned to normal again...or almost. Koren could feel that the female behind him had noticed something was wrong with him, and it had set her on edge. Suddenly, instinct and a sense he could only chalk up to God turned him around, and he locked eyes with his captor again, this time his eyes just as intense as hers.

"How much do you know about the Tau'ri?" Koren said, almost frantically

"Turn around," She insisted in a low voice, raising what was clearly a rifle of some sort to Koren's chest and placing the muzzle on his heart. Koren didn't back down; something told Koren that this woman was important; that she may be the one person from this universe who Vedas could befriend. Her talk of sides and survival had given Koren the sense that maybe she didn't have a side herself; maybe she was this galaxies version of a mercenary, and if she had been hired by Stargate's apparently self-chosen rival in this sector of space, maybe he could persuade her to change her mind and help the expedition instead.

Koren felt the rifle in his chest and tried to battle the female mercenaries steely gaze and realized for a brief moment how ridiculous that all sounded.

"My friends are coming to rescue me," The woman didn't flinch at Koren's words, just continued to meet his gaze. But at least she was hearing him out. "And, knowing them, they won't hesitate to kill you."

"I know," She said matter-of-factly. Koren stopped in his tracks and just stared at her. She continued, "I would expect no less from Stargate. Your nobility precedes you only by your arrogance. But," She pushed the rifle muzzle in between his ribs, "If we're lucky, they won't be able to find us soon enough to save you." Koren now had more questions than ever, but the female was getting edgy, and when the person with a gun to your heart gets edgy, you do what they say. Koren turned around and was about to walk when suddenly dozens of miniature flying orbs materialized out of thin air.


"Jesus," Koren said under his breath, and he spun around and locked eyes with the mercenary. In a brief moment, Koren watched as 3 thoughts were etched on her face, one after the other; concern, not for her but for Koren; the decision of what to do next; then, determination. She immediately kept for Koren, tackling him to the ground, pinning him, limb for limb. Suddenly it dawned on Koren what she was doing; she was protecting her prize prisoner, Koren, with her armor. Koren heard a menacing hum and watched as three of the orbs joined together and, in a split instant, shot towards the mercenaries arm. She kept off of Koren, spinning, trying to avoid the shot, but it snagged her armor and burrowed through, and blood flew through the air as she crumpled next to Koren.

"CEASE FIRE!" Yelled Koren to the trees around him, "CEASE FIRE! She's not a threat." Koren sat up and pushed his arms beneath him and past his legs, bringing the cuffs out in front of him. He kicked away the rifle from the female and flipped her over with his foot.

"Oh, how wrong you are," She grunted through the pain.

"Shut up and hold still. Keys," He demanded, beginning to search her.

"No need," She said, gritting her teeth from the sting of the injury. Koren grabbed the hunting knife from her belt and cut himself free. "Good luck, Koren," She said as he pulled his dog tags from around her neck, "And watch your back. There are a lot worse things than a girl chasing through this galaxy."

Koren almost grinned; she thought he was going to leave her there. The hilarity of that assumption gave Koren a new fire under him; he wasn't going to leave a potential new ally battered and alone in the woods. Granted, she'd probably survive and be fine, but Koren was always a sucker for people in distress anyways; it was one of his few redeeming features in his eyes.

Koren tore off a strip of his BDU sleeve and pulled the female's injured arm up and behind her. "I said," Koren muttered, tying a make-shift tourniquet around the wound, "To shut UP!" He said, punctuating the last word by quickly tightening the tourniquet. The woman gasped and half rolled over, her pain-streaked face and crazed eyes meeting Koren's.

"What they hell are you doing?!" She said incredulously through gritted teeth.

"Getting you to safety." Koren said, distracted by cleaning up the remain part of the wound.

"Right," She said sarcastically, rolling her eyes and laying her face in the dirt again, "Going with the Tau'ri will keep me safe." 

"Fine," Koren said, tightening the bandage a final time, "If you don't see it that way, let's just say the tables have turned." He pulled another set of cuffs from her belt and, fastening them on the mercenary, pulled her to her feet, grabbed the rifle from the ground, and spun her around, putting the muzzle in her ribs like she had done with him, "Meet your new captor." Koren smiled a broad, fake smile.

Suddenly, Aear, with Lequana oddly on his back, crashed out of the trees, then moved towards the two of them with their hands up. "We're not here to harm you. We just want to make sure our teammate is safe. Lequana could you make sure she's ok? I did shoot at her. Mackie's on her way so I might need to protect her."

"You've done enough damage for one day, Aear," Koren said, gesturing to the female mercenaries arm, who's bandage was bleeding through already. "Lequena, is there anything you can do for her before we get her back to base? Her arm was hit pretty good."

" Suma." Aear apologised lowering his weapon and moving over to the woman. "im gonna close the wound with a healing spell," Aear informed the woman a small white magic circle forming just off his hand. In a few moments he'd closed the wound enough so that it wouldn't open up again too easily. "You'll have to be a bit careful since I'm not as good as Kana. "We'll debrief your actions later," Koren said through gritted teeth. He wasn't truly mad at Aear, he was just mad that the whole thing happened. But the more Koren thought about it, the more thankful he became; for once, Aear's impulsiveness had payed off, and they had the opportunity to possibly court a new ally.

"I'll handle her, Aear. Just don't let Mac do anything you would do," Koren said with wry sarcasm. He turned to the woman, "Sit here and don't move." After helping her sit down, Koren gestured for Lequana to join him.

"Look," Koren said, brushing himself off from laying in the dirt, "There's something different about her. She's very good at what she does, but also very morally conscious." He looked in the mercenaries direction, "Something tells me that theres more to her than meets the eye. She knows this galaxy and knows the politics and the big players in these parts. I'd like to persuade her to join us, but that means keeping her sheltered from the military." Koren turned back to Lequana. He couldn't believe he was actually doing this, "Could you get her on base and protected by patient-provider privilege in the infirmary until I can debrief her? I don't want her getting interrogated."

Lequana mind raced as she tried to keep her mind busy, it wasn't till Koren mentioned ' knows the politics and the big players in these parts ' that she finally paid full attention to what he was saying and decided maybe it was worth listening to . Was this woman what he was saying and did she know all what he said . Knowing all she could about anyone that might of attacked her people . Her people had been new to the universe and had only ever mate a few none advanced races and none which were advanced .
She strengthened herself as she tried to replay every word he had said, but as the pain slowly increased or as she just paid more attention to it and either way it was still there . The first thing Lequana did was to hand the weapon Aear gave her to Koren .

" He's thick in his ways, even when he's trying to change . Were all scared of that first step even soldiers too and would she be any different . You really think patient-provider privilege would work, I can tell you I think not but I may be able to help . Aear in his tick ways has made my system well cause massive damage onto its self, believe me the pain is worse than it looks and when I get back to base I'll need to reset some systems which will evolve a 24 hour coma to get in to safe levels . I won't bore you with details anyway when I was asked if I'd like to stay I was asked to agree to certain demands . I made only one and that was if they found anyone who had information on what happened to any of my people I'd be present or someone of my choosing . If they break there word all details on my peoples tech and to the ship located on my home world will be unavailable to them . I can buy you two days at best if I extend my coma to to days, but it will be a favor you will owe me and I'd like as the person I wish for to find out if she knows any information on my people . "

It was a fair deal in Lequana's eyes and she had nothing to lose .

Mac headed for the beacon. Of course she knew there were likely people there. But she needed to know why it was so damn bright in the middle of the day. She would let Koren handle himself; his service record said many great things about him. And with Aear around, well, at least if he did anything, they'd both go. She paused for a mere moment to reload her p-90, and then moved forward. Finally, the beacon came into view. She used her binoculars to investigate. It was a beacon, likely more as well, surrounded by guards. She counted. Ten total. Best not to approach; she was no dummy. She might be a damn fine Marine, but she was no match for ten guards. With a defeated sigh, she raised her radio. She was far enough away that she didn't fear anyone hearing her. She kept her voice low.

I am doubling back to meet you two. Meet up with the Lt yet? She didn't wait for a reply, instead, she shed her pack, stuffed her outerwear into it, and began to jog towards where Aear and Lequana had gone. If she could get enough speed, she could meet up with them in just about 20 minutes.

Already in the air and en-route to Mac he was around half way between the beacon and Koren and the others where he stopped and hovered in the air. He'd do some recon of his own, high enough not to be spotted and able to use his magical vision he could see what Mac couldn't. Hidden behind the beacon was some sort of machine, from the energy scans some sort of portable weapon, presumably artillery. What was clear though was it was far more advanced then any of the rather primitive ballistic weaponry the locals were carrying.

This was getting worse by the minute. Aear was already not fond of their new captive before she started giving them her vague information on galactic politics but now they had unknowns with whatever highly advanced weapon that was. Aear dropped his flight starting it again only to prevent himself making a crater. Mac would catch up to him soon enough hopefully he'd come up with their next move by then. Aear pondered whether they should just gate back to base. They weren't looking for enemies but from the woman's cryptic clues perhaps someone was looking to be theirs. [Burnout Form] Cyleo changed form once again swapping out the triple barrelled shotgun for a pair of gauntlets. He hoped he wouldn't have to but if they wanted yo play chicken he was son artillery Mage and would give them a run for their money.

" He's thick in his ways," Said Lequana about Aear, "Even when he's trying to change . Were all scared of that first step even soldiers too and would she be any different . You really think patient-provider privilege would work, I can tell you I think not but I may be able to help . Aear in his tick ways has made my system well cause massive damage onto its self, believe me the pain is worse than it looks and when I get back to base I'll need to reset some systems which will evolve a 24 hour coma to get in to safe levels . I won't bore you with details anyway when I was asked if I'd like to stay I was asked to agree to certain demands . I made only one and that was if they found anyone who had information on what happened to any of my people I'd be present or someone of my choosing . If they break there word all details on my peoples tech and to the ship located on my home world will be unavailable to them . I can buy you two days at best if I extend my coma to to days, but it will be a favor you will owe me and I'd like as the person I wish for to find out if she knows any information on my people . "

Koren turned to the female, thinking hard. This would be pulling a fast one of the chain of command, and since Koren was due a promotion (and Mac had offered one), he didn't like the idea of disrupting the chain of command, but he also knew that this mercenary would not talk under normal circumstances. She clearly could be reasoned with (especially with money), but interrogation would get them nowhere. The expeditions best and only option once they stepped through that gate was to turn her for their cause, or at least pay her to stay quiet about where their base of operations was.

Koren squatted down to be on eye level with the woman. "I'm taking a big risk, bringing you along."

"A fools risk," she said with a smirk, cutting him short, "a noble fool, none-the-less."

"...But this is no bedtime story." Koren said with a stern look, "We're going to debrief you back at our base. Lequana and I are going to do our best to keep you out of any sort of military interrogation, but thats all we can promise you. But that does come with a cost."

She looked at him, seemingly surprised by his naiveté, "I'm not an information broker."

Koren shook his head, a smile creeping onto his face, "Promise me you won't try to escape."

The woman locked eyes with Koren, a smile forming on her lips as well, "How long will you hold me?"

"We can't spare the resources to hold you very long," Koren said, his grin full-fledged; this was going to work, "4 or 5 cycles, tops."

"Huh," She looked at him for a few seconds, then nodded, realizing the simply yet seemingly harmless deal she was making "You have my word."

Koren stood up and, shouldering the rifle, turned on his commset again, "That's oddly comforting," He said as he dialed in the squads frequency again. Just then, Mac's voice bit across the comm channel.

"I am doubling back to meet you two. Meet up with the Lt yet?"

"They sure did, Mac. And look," Koren said in a cheerful manor, gesturing to the mercenary as if Mac could see him, "I found a new friend!" The female simply rolled her eyes. It was a good day to be a member of Stargate!
