Mac was standing at ease, her stance open and friendly. SHe hoped. After giving her name and rank, she stood back a bit, waiting for a response. The reply was NOT what she was expecting.
Your words mean nothing to me...Except that you claim to be Tau'ri. We have heard of the Tau'ri in ancient legend and myth, but they were rumored to be great warriors, and you...You are a woman. Mac raised an eyebrow. She was mostly used to that reaction-being a female Marine, she often heard the "women should be in the kitchen, not combat" crap that less secure men liked to spew. Her brown eyes, normally soft and friendly, flashed a bit as she fought to maintain herself. THe man went on.
[q]Why do you lead this men into battle? What is your crime?
Saying yes, she mumbled as Koren stepped forward.
In our culture, Women are respected and treated the same as men, no matter what the task is...She is our leader, and I am her second in command.
This Woman is your master?
Well...yes. Yes, of course. Just go with it. Don't let it get to you, he said, to Mac.
Mac just nodded. She wasn't bothered. She knew who she was-she WAS used to the reaction. She kept her rifile at a safe distance, at her hip, and pointed down. She was here to advocate peace, and it took a lot more than a man with his head in his arse to distract her from her orders.
I AM the commanding office, sir, and I assure you, we're here for peace.
Tag:@ Koren.
A few things happened after that.
Mac sighed. She was NOT about to be pushed aside, but she would assert herself calmly. But before she could respond, the Porcieuk's voice came down the radio line.
SV-3 from SV-2 ," Fiala's urgent voice crackled over the comms, "We have a large body of water moving on your position now! get to the gate!" Huh?! She glanced around...nothing was happening, but she just nodded to Koren.
Let's move them out. Charter, prep to regate, please. She turned back to the man.
[q]Koren shot a look at Mac, then turned to a distraught looking Agraj, "This area is about to flood," He said, looking directly into the man's eyes, "Is there anywhere you and your people can seek shelter?"
Agraj lowered his voice, suddenly serious, "No," He said deeply, "Our nearest village is at least a 2 days walk from here. We will try to find high ground and wait out the waters,"
Koren turned to the LC, "Mac," He said, screw protocol, "We can't just let these people die. We have to take them through the gate with us,"
"Dr. Harrison will find a way. We can spare the rations; we have Shiva coming to resupply." Koren looked defiantly at Mac and grabbed hold of his P90, "I'm not leaving here without these people. I'll stay and ride out the flood if I have to. These people will need the help rebuilding."
Mac considered, then nodded.
Charter, delay my last. Now, prepare to help refugees. I am instiuting the BLUE operational plan. We go to the gate with as many villagers as is possible. She turned and began to give out orders, her voice and tone even and calm. She noted that Telion reported back to Fiala, and she was fine with his go-ahead. He would be a great asset.

Finally, Aear spoke.
"You know The Noizy Tribe is one of the few Meowtian units that doesn't have a female commander. Generally women are more capable in magic and are better warriors. They also tend to have better tactics." Damn straight.
I agree..
With a swift, deft twist of her wrist, she shouldered her rifle, and began to lead a small line of villagers towards the Stargate. With the grace of God, they'd make it in time.

These foreigners are of no threat to us! Back to your houses!" After the men had gone, he turned back to Koren, throwing a very strong arm around Koren's shoulders, "Yours is a strange culture, young man. Being led by a woman into battle...Ah, just imagining it makes me laugh," Then he turned to Mac, "And yet, here it is before me!"
The man then proceeded to bow, putting all of his weight on his back foot, and leaning far back with arms outstretched, "I am Agraj Borkakoti, the leader of this settlement." He straightened up again, "What is your purpose here?"
