"Are you insane?" Travis exclaimed in the room full of people. It was not everyday he lost it over few of the choices made by his CO. What the man was suggesting was a suicide mission. He had done his share of them and they were not fun as they sounded. Not to mention that the thrill of such mission worn off after few rounds.

"You have a better idea?" Matthew asked him pointedly and with a glare. His advisor wasn't much was a advisor, now was he? How the heck had his two previous CO -Kelper and Loveridge- didn't feel like throttling him was beyond his understanding right now.

"That's not --" he cut off when the glare was aimed his way. He knew better to poke and push buttons when he got this way. It was asking for trouble. And getting in trouble was not something he had a habit off.

"Good." The tone suggested that there would be no further debate on this, picking up his glasses he read over the idea again, "Colonel, you keep and eye on the orbit, Harris and Collins will lead this mission."

"Yes Sir," Travis nodded and was beamed out.

"Major, let's get that ship." He didn't like sitting on his rear end while his teams did the dirty work. Loss of Doctor Henry Pratt had the home hard and face of what they were standing up against. Right now there were no answers as to what had happened to the man and Matt was still searching for answers. Something, anything that would help the Doctors family have a closure.

The Admiral was about to dismiss the teams, but the radio of all clicked, and Travis's voice floated through, "Looks like we have less time then we thought. Something big is headed our way. Shall I open channels for communications sir?"

"Are you insane?"

"You have a better idea?"

"That's not --"

"Oh would you two knock it off?" Did they always have to argue about everything? It really got old to Vanessa and it got old fast. She didn't usually say anything but if no one could make a plan without calling the other insane.

"Good."

"Colonel, you keep and eye on the orbit, Harris and Collins will lead this mission."

"Yes Sir"

Then there was the whole you know something about getting a ship. Yeah about that insanity thing. "Admiral I'm with the Colonel... Are you insane?" Okay well she had said her piece right. She heard Travis' voice after a moment. Could anything ever go according to plan? Because this was definitely not in the plan? At least it hadn't been in the briefing that she had received.

Though she wouldn't put it past them to make up some half arsed plan and then decide to ditch it at the last minute. That was just how things worked around here clearly. "How big is big?" She knew quite a few things about a lot of ships, but calling another ship big... theirs was already not exactly tiny. Vanessa tried to flip through her mind what else could be big besides a ship though too. It wasn't like ships were the only thing but the fact that Travis wanted to communitate with it? Probably another ship. Then again if it was a floating command center... no their ship would swamp that. Okay it was time to stop thinking like a design specialist and actually do something useful.

Once again the Oxfords were squabbling...somewhat. This time it was Travis getting upset over one of the Admirals plans, apparently it was a little on the crazy side, but when had plans ever not been on the crazy side? The Expedition seemed to run on crazy, and it was probably because crazy often worked and got the job done. Kata just watched the two men as the "discussed" the details, Travis obviously not liking what he was hearing.

As the Colonel left the room, Harris looked down the table to where the Admiral was sitting, "Major, let's get that ship." she gave the man a tired smile and nodded. Since Pratts disappearance she and several others had been searching high and low to try and find the man, gating out at every chance they got but returning home empty handed. It was getting tiring, but they still had hope the man was somewhere. "I'll get you that ship." she replied, it would be what? The third ship she had stolen in her lifetime, though this time she would be without a trained copilot, but they'd make it work.

"Even if it is insane..we need more fire power to help our chances." Harris looked the other way down the table to where Whitmore sat, "Insane tends to work, shakes things up a bit." as long as no one else died or went missing she was fine with crazy. Then came the news of a big ship approaching the Base, and just like Vanessa she wondered how big was big? While the Shiva was a large ship, Kata remembered the Olympians having gigantic ones that dwarfed everything.

"Radio still down?"

"Yes sir, it won't be back up for a little while longer, they destroyed that along with the port thruster."

Captain Broomhilda Wolfe sighed and rubbed his eyes again, his once beautiful flag ship now looked like he had gotten it from a scrap yard, well it already had kind of looked like that but it looked better than it did now, it also did not have as many issues. They had barely been able to jump into hyperspace without the engines exploding, most of the weapons systems were still offline and there were numerous hull breaches, but luckily nothing super dangerous.

Wolfe looked out the large observation window on the bridge, "Sir you do realize that you'd be going in blind." his first officer reminded him again, "Hops, half the time we go into a battle we are blind." he replied, the younger man frowned, "The last time we encountered these people they tried to kill us." Wolfe looked at the man, "And we tired to take them prisoner, you remember the last time someone tried to capture you, I believe you killed two of them and cut off one of their heads." that had been a bloody encounter. 

He was tired of running and barely being able to fight when they had to, it was time to try and make amends, and he hoped the humans were willing to listen, if not everyones time in this world was limited. Wolfe started walking to the center of the Bridge, Hops waited holding out his long coat, the Captain slipped it on without a word and made sure his gun belt was secure around his waist, even if he was not carrying one. "You sure about not taking a weapon?" Hops asked, Wolfe nodded, "Best to make myself less threatening" 


"Or you could just take a knife, I have the perfect one" 


"I already have one in my boot." 

Hops smirked and stepped away, "Anything else Captain?" he asked, Wolfe shook his head, "You have the Bridge, and know what to do if I do not return." they had decided that Hops was to take the Nova, regroup with what was left of his fleet and start jumping into hyperspace till they were far away from the Asuras, only then would they try to rebuild and resettle. On Hops orders there was a bright flash of light, the activity of the Bridge vanished and Wolfe soon found himself standing in a room he had never seen before but he knew it to be his proper destination. Several people where seated around a long table and all had the same surprised expression on their faces, he only recognized one of them.  

"Admiral please excuse my interruption, but I come to you today-" the Captain paused as he felt someone move beside him, glancing over out of the corner of his eye he saw the receiving end of a gun, more so a pistol aimed at his head. It had not been the first time someone had aimed a gun at him, so he did not panic, but simply raised his hands up. "Miss..I mean you no harm." he said looking to the woman, she did not move her gun, "It is Major and I don't know who you are so you can get over it till I find out." Kata replied, "Might you let me introduce myself?" Wolfe asked with a sympathetic smile, "My name is Broomhilda Wolfe and I believe we both are in dire need of each others help." he said.

No sooner as Wolfe had appeared, Harris had already been on her feet as was Witwer. The tiny bond woman stood in fornt of the Admiral like a human shield. Regardless of what it costed, Oxford would be protected. "Wolfe," Matthew gave a nod, "I was half expecting you and crew to come gun blazing over the incident." Wasn't that the threat that had been given to him?

"Major," Oxford tipped his head towards Harris, "Stand down. If he harms anyone including myself, you have my permission to shoot him. Lieutenant, you as well." He tapped the blond's shoulder and gave her a nod when he has seen hesitant expression.

"Yes sir," Billie stepped aside, but didn't go back to her seat and stayed by his side. She knew that the Admiral was capable of holding on his own. The man had toured wards before she was even born.

Amused, "So Wolfe," he began, "How can we help?" Since Wolfe had come to him, Matt wanted to see he could. Pirate tried anything funny, they were not going to spare him. Taking a seat he addressed Whitmore, "Pluto and Earth size difference. Shiva being Pluto."

Evan wisely stayed out of the line of fire, but flashed Vanessa a concerned look when she didn't. His shorthand for 'are you nuts?' And then, at the other end of the table, had Major Harris just casually admitted that insane was probably the way to go? God, everyone was nuts. Had he stepped into an episode of the Twilight Zone, or was this the direction he'd headed, too, if he spent enough time out here?

He didn't have time to dwell on it overmuch. The familiar flash of a transporter signaled the arrival of… someone identifying himself as Broomhilda Wolfe, though he had no intention of taking action against the man. Leave that to the armed military personnel in the room. Instead he made a mental note, as Oxford ordered both Harris and Witwer to stand down. We really need to work on a jamming signal to prevent unannounced 'guests,' though he used that word loosely, from just beaming down whenever they feel like it.

Wolfe did not move, but he did smile when Oxford mentioned he and his crew coming in guns blazing, "I figured I would take a more reasonable approach to things this time." Wolfe did not like to hurt people who he knew would be useful to him, you can't use people when they are injured or dead. "Major, Stand down. If he harms anyone including myself, you have my permission to shoot him. Lieutenant, you as well." Kata tightened her grip on her gun before pulling it away from the pirated head, "I don't think that will be needed any further, I am not the one you should be trying to shoot."

"And who should I be waiting to shoot?" Harris asked as she motioned for Wolfe to take a seat at the table. Wolfe declined the offer with a small wave of his hand, he did not want to make a fool of himself with trying to sit at a table that would not be comfortable for his long frame. Instead he removed his hat and set it on the table before leaning forward and resting his hands on the table top. "For the past few weeks an Asura War Fleet has been gathering and moving this way. Their goal simple, to utterly destroy you and anyone who sides with you. You have made your presence known in this galaxy and while some see it as a blessing, the Asurans see you as someone who needs to be dealt with once and for all." 

He did not know if they actually knew the gravity of the situation, the newcomers had pi$$ed off the most powerful force around and now it was going to get ugly. The room was quiet as Wolfe glanced around to everyone present, "Why do I feel like you all might have already known this.." he asked with a puzzled look. 

"We did not know all that..just that we needed to be on our guard." The Major replied, they had been suspecting something for a while now, they just did not know exactly what to expect, "It is also why the rest of our people are away trying to aquire another ship." Wolfe let out a bark of a laugh, "So you realized that your little transport ship would not be near enough to cause any damage against Shumba's fleet." it was true, the human ship was an ant compared to his, it was amazing that it is able to pack that much fire power.  Harris tensed up as she realized who's name he had said at the end of his sentance, "Shumba.." she repeated, Wolfe nodded, "I assume you've all at least heard of him." 

Kata looked away from Wolfe and over to where Witwere stood near Matt, "We've met him." it had been one of their crazier missions, possibly one of the craziests because she had been a POW for almost four months before renuiting with her teamated again. "It was not a pleasent expirence I assume?" he asked, Harris looked back over to him, the look in her eyes said all he needed to know. Wolfe smiled, "Good! Then you will have no problem helping me steal another ship! This one is sure to put a dent in that prison planet brats plans!" he said with a smile. "But of  course.." he held up a hand, "With the Admirals permission...might we put our past problems aside and work together to save all our asses?" he was using everyone ounce of charisma he had in him to make the smile on his face seem honest.

Watching Kata attempt to be being talked down by some crazy pirate was not on Vanessa's list of things to do. Quite honestly she didn't care who the man was. Broomhilda? Really that sounded like something her great grandmother might have called her mother. Vanessa kept quiet knowing it was the better of ideas. Diplomat Vanessa was not but brains she had.

Why did she have to get planetary references when asking a question. She was sure that Matt did that to get on her nerves, just like he usually did. There was a nod as she looked towards Matt. Still there were only some ships who could be bigger.

Vanessa caught Evan's look and rolled her eyes. What was it with men? He was the one she had to teach to defend himself and he was concerned about her? If it was one thing Vanessa could handle it was herself.

Though the old ancient named pirate thing started talking, again. Vanessa spoke. "You come beam down without common courtesy and then ask for our help?" So Vanessa was a little agitated, though she kept it from showing.

She looked towards Travis as the Colonel exclaimed at the Commanding Officer. This was the first she had seen him like this in years. She was certain he might have used the same tone with Troy or the NID woman who was in charge. Since Loveridge had left, Collins had kept a distance from the new CO. Vanessa didn't get along with the other woman. She smirked as the Admiral cut Travis off with one look. Who knew that was all it took to shut Former SD2 Commanding Officer from talking.

She stared at Admiral Oxford as if he had a second head grown next to the current one. Sure she had experience with SG and off-world dealings, but not in leading. She wanted to protest but no words came out. Were all Oxfords the same? She wondered and didn't really need an answer. Robert had taken the lows to the whole new level everyday till the ship had returned. Removing in Medical grounds always held an appeal. Travis was still cocky as she remembered him to be.

When the Pirate had beamed himself down without warning, Collins watched SV-2 CO and XO jump to protect the Admiral as she sprung to her feet as well. Hand was hoovering over a zat she had. Most of the members were armed since they were to be deployed right after the meeting. Last time someone had asked for aide had betrayed them. An experience she would not forget, "What's the catch?" she asked as she walked over to where the three members of the Armed forces were, "There's always a catch, Wofle. What's yours?"

Victoria was currently taking a position close to the group that gave her a position of defense. The others getting into the visitor's face did not make Victoria feel any better about security. The last thing she needed was things to get bloody. However, she had a job to do. That regarded keeping her mouth shut. Though she was already busy trying to figure out how Wolfe got past security protocols in place. Quite honestly, she was feeling like she let the Admiral down at this point but she was going to have to clean up her mess.

Locking the system down at this point was an option but she more or less didn't do that unless there were no other options. At this point it was however many of them on base and one random pirate asking for help? Well coming to ask for help wasn't fishy.. but the hesitancy of the others didn't help give her much trust in the visitor. While not treating this as a hostile situation, she was keeping an eye on the entire room.

"The catch," Rachana's lips came together in a rather unpleasant, thin smile, "Is that he and his crew can not do this alone, and his ship is, troubled." The wording had been, another ship but why do that now not before? Something must have changed and that left, he had been on the wrong side of someone. Unlike most of them she looked out of place, a blue jumpsuit, dark brown hair tied back into a ponytail and soil smeared just about everywhere. Before two weeks ago she had not even considered hydroponics to be even an option but that cultivator had been in a terrible shape and the others had given up on it. Two weeks and several new parts later they would have a little less to worry about on their food production in about six months. Compared to that attending a briefing seemed pointless, it had certainly gone from strength to strength since then.

Be it a new ship, or some repairs to the one she could visualise listing in orbit had really gotten her interest. She had been long awaiting the chance to tour one of these titans, to pull apart at them and find what made them tick. What could be made use of and more importantly what sort of challenge they could provide her with. This captain had a plan, either way she would get her chance, at last. It elated her, that cruel smile becoming one that was far easier on the eye. Leaning forwards her brown eyes focused cleanly on those of this visitor. He was begging for help and did so with swagger and aplomb to make it seem it was an offer. True they would be helping each other but he stood to gain more than them and he knew it. Life would get harder if not impossible for him if he was once more the focus of their foes.

As for everyone else in the room, so hostile. Sure this man had been a problem before but he had come unarmed and seemed friendly enough for now. Pointing guns at him, did they not understand that if he could beam down, he could have just abducted them all if he wanted? He wanted to talk and he seemed to think he knew them well enough to trust them with his life. If it was a ploy then it was a ballsy one.

Their Commanding Officer was surrounded by pack of women who if given half a chance show what they were capable of. The Pirate should be on the side of caution if he wanted to see the next day or week. If the ugly mug touched a single strand of hair on the Admiral's head, claws out be out fast than speed of light. At the man's order Billie moved few steps back but didn't lower her weapon or remove from self nor she left the Admiral's side.

Shumba's name had her gaze going cold. The man was worse that Wolfe, for now. She couldn't forget the labor nor the threats made against her team. Her big concern now was, what the man was capable of. There was no way Pinky was allowing the foul face alien have access to the Oxford nor the base itself; come hail or high hell. "I'll gladly shoot him," Bills added.

She almost threw a look at Collins at her words, who the heck care what the catch was. When Rachana spoke, the Navy Officer tried not to roll her eyes, "Sometimes," she spoke, "That's not always the case." While she hadn't experienced what Collins had, Billie knew that somethings did not always stay that way.

Matt sighed as he watched every single woman in the room come to his aide/defense. He had see worse than this during war on Earth. At least here he was in the safety of the base as oppose to being out in the open field like a duck waiting to be shot, "Whatever the catch is," his tone would draw everyone's attention or so he hoped, "We don't have another choice. Doctor Collins, Major Harris, get you teams ready to move. You have twenty minutes to do so. Make every minute count. Major," he looked at Harris, "Don't make me repeat myself."

And this was something he better not regret, but was sure he was going to, especially when this reached Travis's ear. His kid brother was going to chew him out; alive. Other than Collins and Harris, Travis was another SG vet he had under him.

Evan shrugged in response to Vanessa's reaction – an exaggerated roll of her eyes clearly directed his way. If he had to guess, he'd be getting an earful from her, but later. The price of showing even a modicum of concern but, of course, even that was a little too much. Whatever. He'd just went right back to listening.

Until Admiral Oxford gave the final mission go-ahead that had him raising an eyebrow in silent protest. Both parties would be teaming up, working together toward a common goal. Mostly because the expedition didn't have a choice in the matter, and their situation hadn't improved any in the last five minutes. But what was to stop Broomhilda from cashing in on a better deal, if the opportunity arose? Evan mentally filed the plan under 'C,' for completely idiotic. To anyone that knew him well enough, you could practically hear the I'm pacing indignantly in his voice as he spoke. "So, hang on. Let me get this straight. We're actually trusting a real life pirate… Well… there's no way this won't backfire on us." Eyes narrowing, Evan directed the next part at Broomhilda alone. "Should I turn around now? Or would you like the dagger in the back to be a surprise later?"

Wolfe sighed and rubbed his eyes, the humans were adament about shooting him and they all seemed to believe that he would betray them in some way. "If any of you shoot me you will be damning yourselves to whatever hell Shumba brings down on you, and trust me it will be all on you." did they not realize that he was trying to help them? Wolfe could have easily left them to be wiped out, but no, instead of sitting on one of his favorite beaches he was standing in a room with a bunch of humans who had a grudge.

"Is that he and his crew can not do this alone, and his ship is, troubled."

He looked to the dark haired woman with dirt on her clothes, "They have killed my people, destoyed my ships and taken countless prisoner. Inocent people have died when they bombarded villages from orbit just to prove how powerful they are and to show that no one should question them." they might not believe him, but it was all true. . "So, hang on. Let me get this straight. We're actually trusting a real life pirate… Well… there's no way this won't backfire on us." Wolfe rolled his eyes, "Yes, believe it or not sir, there are people who do not always follow the rules and might dabble every so often in a bit of harmless crime. I am sure all of you always follow the rules...and if I wanted to kill you, it would have already happened." Who did the man think Wolfe was? Some greehorn who could barely aim a gun?

"Witwer you will not be shooting anyone." Kata said firmly as she looked to her XO, they did not need another death to deal with, not when there were worse things coming. "Everyone else, I do not want to hear another word about him possibly betraying us, if it happens we will address it then. Otherwise I want, no I am ordering you all to focus on the task at hand. If you are not comfortable working with Captain Wolfe then I am sure the Adirmal can find another temporay assignment for you."

There came what sounded like a muffle start of a laugh from Wolfe, but the pirate quickly hid it with a cough. Major Harris did not even look at him, she kept her eyes on everyone else, "We do not have time to sit and discuss every little reason why we should not work with him, most of ya'll know why we should not, but at the same time do we have any other choice?" even though she was getting frustrated Kata kept her voice level, no one responded. 

They'd be doing this mission with four civilains and four (if the Wizard helped) military personal, even split. Though she did not really like the numbers, something like this usually went better with more trained military vs. civilans, it would have to do. "Witwer, I want Cross and Roshanara fully outfitted, everyone else go get ready, like Admiral Oxford said, you have twenty minutes, you are dismissed." 

As everyone slowly started filing out of the room Kata turned back to Wolfe, "How exactly do you plan on taking this ship?" she asked him, Wolfe smiled, he had been waiting for someone to ask that very question but everyone had been focused on him verses the actual plan. "Well we will use your transport.."

"Battleship...it is a battleship."

"Right...we take the small battleship to the space station..."

"And?" 

"We deploy from there and basically walk on in...and take it." 

After a few seconds she realized that was the plan, "Anything else?" Harris asked, Wolfe shook his head, "I tend to take things as they come, the good thing is that I know the stationmaster..." something about the way he said that made her think that was not the whole truth.    So the plan was to basically walk into an enemy space station...and just take a ship.

There was no way that this could go wrong, at all.
