[Mahadev]

Previously, on Stargate Vedas......

Arrival Nandi and hearing the dilemma faced by the Devas to free Mahadev's daughter, Admiral Oxford had ordered SV-1 and SV-3 to aide out in freeing her. Upon arrival to the planet, the groups discover that there are four entrances and create groups accordingly. Each group face a guard from their point of enterence awaking them in process. Now with the arrival of the Supreme Lord himself, can the teams achieve their aim?

Narad looked worriedly at Mahadev, "Narayan, Narayan. Interesting turn of events, my Lord," he admitted, with a gesture of his hands, "I didn't not think they would get past the barriers set in place."

Mahadev smiled as he looked at Narad, "Omi sage," he spoke calmly, "never under estimate. I send Nandi for this every reason. They take pride in the work they do. The Tau'ri have come a long way since we left their world."

Narad smile, "That I can see....." he trailed off at the sudden change in the Lord's face, which told him that something was up and he was not going to like it. He watched wordlessly as Mahadev stood to his full height, hands curled around the trident and disappeared before his eyes.

"Narayan," Mahadev's voice boomed in the air before his arrival as the smoke covered a good amount of area before leaving behind a figure, and greeting Vishnu when a barely noticeable nod, "Don't oversee their importance in this war. Their being here is not a matter of intrusion, they arrived here on my behest."

Calmer, Narayan turned and faced Mahadev, and considered what was being told to him, "You send them to their doom. Once awake, he will unleash choas...."

Mahadev merely smiled at him, "Then you also know who will stop him. He had been warned years ago of this day. His fate is sealed." Vishnu nodded and without a word disappeared.

"Your are safe, head back to the gate. Your aid is needed elsewhere." He tried not gritting his jaws at what he could forsee. Then walked away to the next.

And of course Nandi had declined to actually be assed to come along with them. Funny how so-called "gods" put people in the situation of making claims with no proof.

He gave Malhotra an aside glance that he hoped captured that before attempting their case. Why did anybody in the SGC believe in any religion again?

"One, Naraka doesn't exist, and we both know you're not actually a god, and the only people who believe in gods are Bronze Age primitives trying to control other Bronze Age primitives." And yeah it was aggressive, and he didn't really care at that moment if he might be offending Malhotra's actual beliefs. It wouldn't be the last time and the historian might as well as see it early like this.

Reasonable negotiation didn't seem possible, so he reached for the trigger. "Now, we can talk either about this without the stupid religious theatrics or I do what I've always wanted to do and shoot a so-called 'god' and we go take the girl. What kind of discussion do you want to have?"

Theatrics, a lot of other aliens pretending to be gods had technological trickery to appear grander. He reached out mentally, trying to touch any hologram generator in the throne room. Maybe if he could touch the wall or the pillars . . .

AS the mount headed toward him. Blake flicked his eyes up and down to decide where to shoot. The head was tilted and the beak was open, almost stuck that way as the call continued.

It never wavered in sound and the beak didn't move as the peacock walked toward him. The way the bird moved hit him like a ton of bricks. He'd seen YouTube videos of things that walked like that. "It's a robot!"

And he really wished he had something with more punch than a handgun as he aimed toward the eyes and fired about half the magazine.

The head drooped and there were sparks as one bullet caught an eye while the others pinged with the sound of metal on metal, the steel construction under the vibrant feathers too thick for a 9mm bullet to touch. The peacock call stopped as the robotic bird fanned its tail and charged.

They could fruitlessly deal with the mechanical mount or talk to its master. "Wait! We were sent by Nandi acting under the orders of Mahadev to find the Lady Usha."

Story time was a good tactic as any Bobby admitted as he eyed the woman carefully. This would give him a chance to think of a to disarm her. One wrong move could prove to be fatal if she pierced him with the arrow that rested on the bow Ganga held. Oh, he really should have had Malhotra with him. He would know what to do. Perhaps radioing him won't be a bad idea if the chance allowed. "Well...." he then launched into the tale of how they found the address and came here and all that had happened since they make the Devas base a home.

Harper, Bobby saw was still aiming his gun at the woman, "If you don't believe me," The Captain tipped his head, "Nandi's out there in a form of a bull statute." It was then Bobby realised he had not introduced himself or Harper. "I'm Captain Robert Oxford. Vedas Expedtion -as it is known- second in command. The guy with pointing gun is Sgt Harper."

"Interesting," she spoke once the tale was told as she asserted the two men in front of her. Mahadev would also able to confirm or deny their story. "And Nandi sent you to rescue Usha?"

Bobby shrugged, "Yea."

Ganga stood debating whether to take them or not.

If Steve didn't keep his mouth shut, Akask thought, he was going to get both of them standing at the gates of hell or heaven. Death wasn't on his list of things. There was too much to explore out here, to see, to experience. They had one chance and he was not going to blow that up, especially not in front of Yama. Ab to gaye hum, he mused. As he kept his finger on the trigger. When all he wanted to do somehow make Steve zip that mouth. Akash wasn't going to even try to point out that ticking off the man would yield undesired results, unless of course Mahadev interfered in the matter, which would be a long shot.

"Silence," Yama warned, as he shifted the club he held to the other shoulder, "you are testing my patience. Explain, or be prepared to come with me. One," he raised his arm and finger, "more chance."

Akash moved to speak when the fog behind Yama caught his attention. A lopsided smile drew on his lips. Miracles did happen after all.

"Yama," Mahadev called out causing the said man to turn and bow, "they have their request. I suggest that out let them rescue her."

Shooting a glance at Steve, Yama nodded. There was no point in arguing with Lord himself. At least they told the truth. "Yes, my Lord." With a irritated glare to the man who spoke rudely, "Follow me."

Akash could only stare at Shiva dumbfounded. Words would not come, even as they sat on the tip of his tongue. Being in the presences of Him.

Looking at Akash, Mahadev smiled as he gave a tip of his head in acknowledgement, "You have much to see, much to face." Then faced Steve, "Interesting nature you have. Use it wisely in battle." With he moved along to another group. Trouble was brewing somewhere.

Fiala stood her ground as Kartikeya stood his as they waited and watched for each others next move. No sooner had Blake took out the bird did he speak.

"Wait! We were sent by Nandi acting under the orders of Mahadev to find the Lady Usha."

Kartikeya remained focused on Fiala, but now he spoke,

" I proclaim a haul to are fight, I've got support were as you do not and I'm sure your not stupid enough to want to gamble your life when the gold is stacked against you." He spoke soft with out even a treat in his voice, " Let's battle with words before we battle with are life's. Before a real life is taken."As he placed his knife away slowly Fiala placed her own weapons away.

Agreed is all Fiala said knowing the odds were against them. The two still stood there ground eyeing each other, this time he raised his voice but still managed to remain relaxed " You have my attention with those words, now if I were you I'd talk before my men arrive with blood on there mind."

With that said Fiala slowly took steps sideways towards Blake hoping he had a follow up.

Ganga still had her bow aimed at Bobby, even after the Coastie finished telling her how they had gotten there.  Nick lowered his gun as Bobby reintroduced them, again. He kept his finger on the trigger ready to shoot the archer if she made a hostile move. "Interesting, And Nandi sent you to rescue Usha?"

The woman still did not move, "Captain we are running out of time, Major Fulcur called for help and since then there hasn't been anything on the radio. We need to move." Nick stepped forward, "Ma'am if you don't mind, if you're going to shoot us then do it, otherwise we have a job to finish and people to go try and save."  he hoped Ganga went for the later suggestions and didn't decide to shoot the both of them right where they stood.

He was about to argue again. Seriously, how long would it take for them to learn that the god act didn't work with the "aliens pretending to be gods" experienced people of Earth?

As Mahadev showed up, he looked at Malhotra. And definitely a theist. Seriously, shouldn't men with advanced education like Malhotra and Blake see religion as hogwash, nothing but a way to control the masses? Steve shook his head. "Interesting nature? Good as any term for the devout atheist."

He gestured to move on for the door on the other side. "Don't take it too personally, I don't believe in anybody's gods. The center of a base is easiest to defend, that's where I'd put a prisoner of importance."

As he checked the fire selector of the P-90, he mused to himself. Anything he'd be willing to consider a "god" didn't need to ask anybody else to do stuff for it. Points for showing up, more help than some of their other alien allies. "Come on, let's go find the princess in her tower."

Blake took a deep breath and recalled what he knew about Kartikeya from the Skanda Purana. Bowing slightly in greeting. "Namaste. I know you, appointed as leader of Army of the Devas to fight Tarakasur. Of course your marriage to Devasena makes a pun out with that title, but that's irrelevant right now. We share an enemy in Tarakasur, let us be allies and not enemies, Lord Kartikeya."

He looked up to Kartikeya. "Give us a chance to prove we are on the same side. That's all I ask from you."

Now they'd have to see if he was willing to listen. Blake stepped backward, trying to be where Fiala'd want him if thinks went all the hell in the next couple of minutes.

Another...being appeared before them. Isabelle stumbled backwards into the solider who had been following behind her, her first thought was to think the new arrival was another enemy, but based on the reactions of the shoulders and Vishnu, this was someone else entirely. 

Mahadev spoke to Vishnu and soon the guard vanished and the soldiers around them undid Grant and Isabelle's restraints and quickly fled back into the forest. Izzy watched them leave, "Your are safe, head back to the gate. Your aid is needed elsewhere." She looked back to Mahadev just in time to see him walk away, while she believed him when he said they were now safe, she couldn't help but worry about everyone else. No one had responded over the radio. "I have no idea who that was, but I am glad he showed up." She said looking to Grant, "How are your ribs? I think I might have cracked a few when we landed."

He watched from the distance as his son debated internally to give the Tau'ri a chance or not. Then at the two Tau'ri who stood before Kartikeya, after moments passed, when he sensed that a decision wasn't reached, "Kartikeya," he called out, "They mean no harm."

Kartikeya faced his father as he had noticed him from the corner of his eyes and wondered why he was here. Last his knew had known his father had been medicating. But he supposed that passage of time had passed. Yet what woke him up was making him curious. "But father," he still had his weapon aimed, "They have been trying to trans-pass and -"

"Nandi is here with them." He shut down any forthcoming argument, "He brought them here. You are to go with them. The battle you have -" he cut off, at what he was seeing, his grip on his trident tightened, "Tarakasura," he gritted his teeth.

"Father?" Kartikeya looked at the two after, "What is happening?"

"Tarakasura is getting ready to strike. We must hurry." On the other hand he could see what trouble the other team would be bringing them. There was a reason they had left Earth long ago. Next was Ganga. Those who were with her were stalling her quietly admirably.

"Your team members are safe," Mahadev walked in from behind Ganga and looked at the two. He had left his son with instructions on what he had to do. As Kartikeya's sole purpose right now was to deal with Tarakasura. "No harm has come to them. Colonel Hamrick and Doctor Malhotra are doing the rescue."

"But..." Ganga turned to face her brother-in-law.

"These people are who they claimed to be, Ganga." Mahadev gave her, his ever patient smile, "Guide them to the door where Usha is. Ensure their safety."

Bobby blinked at the man, "Well...." he considered the optioned he had at hand, as he looked at Harper, "I guess we could try getting ourselves killed in process."

At the words, Mahadev merely smiled, "Patiences, Robert. It will aide you." He could see how the end would be for the man if he wasn't careful out here. Dealing with the Asuras wasn't light task.

"Lead the way."

They had ran for their lives more or less once the guards became alert that Princess was freed. Taking shelter behind few large boulders, Bobby renewed his mag and opened fired at the guards of whoever own the damn palace in the first place. So much for the stealth-ness he mused as he secured Malhotra behind him.

"Are you insane?" Akash bellowed over the gun fire, "They will kill us, Captain."

"Not on my watch, Doctor," he spoke without looking at the man. Bobby was right now finding him annoying. "Now shut up and MOVE. Or I shoot you."

"The Admiral will hear about this," the historian promised as he looked ahead. The gate wasn't far off.

Threats, Bobby wanted to laugh, "He is talking like I'm really going to pull the trigger." With a shake of his head he moved towards the gate, "Start dialing," he ordered over the radio, "like now!"

It was the last thing Blake had expected as Mahadev arrived to prove their alibi. As he holstered his gun, he looked up to Kartikeya. "Ready to strike where?"

The Devas walked toward Fiala and Blake. "We will go to the gate."

The three headed back, not taking the drainage tunnels they'd slogged through before but the hallways. Blake tried to engage Kartikeya to talk more. "There are so many questions I have, according to accounts on our world you . . ."

Blake stayed behind cover while the military members fought to keep control and get back to the gate.

Steve mentally head-counted. Malhotra, Cooper, Fulcur, everyone was present. And cursed quietly. "Doctor, I'll cover you to the DHD."

And Usha, she looked human but that didn't mean much in his experience.

Nick was shooting at the rather ticked off guards who were following them, he paused to reload and overhead Oxford threatening to shoot Dr. Malhotra. That would help them out real good, "You're real good at the whole motivation game, you ever consider writing a book?" Nick called. There was a momentary lull in the enemy fire and Nick took that second and started back towards the Gate as Bobby called for someone to start dialing

The closest person to the DHD when Bobby gave the order was Isabelle. She scrambled to enter the address and prayed it was correct, the Gate activated and she turned back around. Her hand went to the pistol on her hip, pulling it from it's holster she gripped it tight.

She didn't plan on shooting anyone, but after the earlier events it made her feel better. 'Front sight, trigger press, follow through' Col. Hamrick had given her a lesson on firearms basics, and having never fired a gun in her life, it was a learning experience.

Steve was escorting Blake to the Gate while, Nick, Bobby and Grant provided covering fire. Sgt. Harper reached the Gate first, the noise from his rifle made her head hurt even worse, "Go already!" He called as he reloaded his gun, "What about everyone else?!" She asked, Harper muttered something as he turned to face her, she knew she heard the word civilian in the mix. He reached out with one hand and grabbed her by the vest as he stepped forward he roughly pushed her through the Gate.

Upon seeing her vanish into the pool of blue he turned back and resumed his covering fire, "Colonel! Bring the Doctor, I got your back!" He yelled. The sooner they got everyone through the better.

Isabelle emerged from the Stargate back on Base, her first thought was one of relief because she hadn't messed up entering the address, her second was that of concern. "They were right behind me.." Cooper said turning back to the Stargate, so far no one had emerged since she had.

Under Harper's coverage, Blake worked his GDO while Isabelle was dialing. "Gate's open!"

The confirmation of gate's energy shield being lowered was so close to when she went in that he felt a moment of fear as he went toward the event horizon and he reflexively breathed out as he entered the wormhole.

Coming out next to her, Blake yelled to the control room. "Clear the area! We're comin' in hot!" He moved to get out of the direct line of the gate, knowing Sergeant Harper and all the officers weren't coming through until Akash cleared the wormhole. He reached for her arm to pull her to the side of the gate. "Move unless you wanna have one of them landing on y'all. They won't go through until Akash does."

Gate security teams were moving into positions to cover in case anybody unfriendly made it through as the teams came back.
