Did someone forgot to give the Admiral a memo that she didn't like the cold as much impression gave? She scowled as she refitted her cap on head again for the millionth time since they arrived at the planet. She cold and wet due to the rain that was being poured down like cats and dogs. It didn't help that the place was in day time. As much as she wanted to rant and the like. The Admiral would expect his people to be professional and do this without thinking like it was a drill.

Her CO was Harris, formerly the team XO and pilot from Delta expedition. Experienced as well. Compared to the woman, Bills was just a rookie as was the civvie doctor slash shrink in one.he final member of the team was their cat ally. She hoped that the young kitten was able to keep up than anything. She was concerned.

Marching on the trail, Billie looked ahead to where nothing was seen beyond rain and glare from the suns reflection, shielding her eyes, "Whoever picked this planet, had to fe drunk!" The navy officer declared not very fondly. She prayed it was not the CG Captain.

Another new place, another new assignment. Roger wasn't yet used to the constant rotation-he was medical doctor, and he preferred the solitude and comfort of his office. He felt at ease studying books and trade journals in his down time, instead of being on-edge about what dangers awaited him. However, he knew that he was needed out here, and so here he was. 

He tried to set up a clinic with the supplies they had, but it was mediocre at best. He'd have to rely on his training and instincts on this one, instead of machines and IVs and things. He could do that. He'd done a bit of trauma work in medical school, and he knew the ins and outs of triage from his time at the veteran's clinic. 

With a sigh, he exited the medic tent and made his way towards the command center. He heard Billie speak. 

Whoever picked this planet, had to be drunk! He chuckled as he opened a bottle of water. 

Aye, Miss Witwer....or has a bad sense of humor.

Away from her family again and once again with this new team of strangers. She'd helped to explore the area surrounding the base with them but she still felt like she didn't know any of them. A feeling only made worse by the addition of Billie, at least it was another girl however, one man was more then enough for Chiquita. This was where Chiquita was at home however, she had always preferred field ops to the paperwork. Unlike her brother however she did her paperwork when it came around rather then waiting for someone else to do it for her. That usually meant she did her brothers paperwork as well however.

Chiquita had been zipping about backwards and forwards, seemingly in random directions for the past while putting a map of the surrounding area together. Anyone watching would have probably got dizzy assuming they could believe the speed she was going. Unlike Aear Chiquita quite enjoyed the rain and it presented a nice distraction from these strangers.

Once Chiquita felt she had enough data she dashed up to Kata, shook off the excess water and presented a managramed map to her CO. "Chiquita make map." she said happily.

The rain had soaked through the ball cap she wore on her head and she could feel the water working its way under her what was supposed to be waterproof jacket. Captain Harris smiled to herself, she was happy that SV-4 had been given the wet planet and not something hot.

Chiquita ran up to her and help out a map she had made up. Kata had been wondering why she was dashing about so quickly, "Thanks" she said as she took the map, "We've been sent here today as a training exercise to see how well we all work together under the pressures of a extreme climate" she looked up from the map and into the faces of her three teammates. Lt. Witwer did not seem fond of the rain, where as the good Doctor looked okay and Chiquita appeared as if she wanted to go jump in some puddles.

"For right now let's check out the area, see of we can't find anything interesting and possibly avoid catching a cold." She handed Witwer the map, "You take point, I'll bring up the rear" Kata was curious to see how the much younger women handled the field.

She faced Roger when the chief of medicine spoke, really disliking the heavy rain and cold. Wrinkling her nose she let out a light sneeze, then sniffed, she wasn't coming down with something for certain. If she was, the was always the person to slotted them to this planet to take the blame, "Doctor," she began, "It's Lieutenant Witwer. I'm military, not civilian. Or it could be a cruel sense of humour. Hard to say which it would be." Since the 'Wizard' wasn't here, she could rule it out as a prank. The man's pranks were well known in the Stargate program.

Taking the map she studied it as she sighed, she was never the one to take the lead, laying out the map on the table, she pulled out her navy issued knife and stabbed it where it appeared to be half way, "Break point. From this we can divide into groups of two and branch out to the two paths here." She drew air circles where the interaction appeared.

"Doc," she looked at Harrison, "I hope your bag are packed as since we leave now." Her blue eyes travelled to the girl, "sense danger, warn us. Yes?"

Roger scratched his head, and then leaned back against the side of the table, sipping coffee, and watching Chiquita dart about. The little girl moved quickly, much faster than science-and logic-dictated she should. He had decided early on to not ask too many questions of the aliens, but instead to just accept it. He had a fleeting thought of hope that this was not what human children were like-if his Minnie moved this fast, he and his wife were in hot water.

Billie spoke to him, bringing him back to the present.

Doctor," ... "It's Lieutenant Witwer. I'm military, not civilian. Or it could be a cruel sense of humour. Hard to say which it would be. He just shrugged. He would never understand military protocol, but he was trying to be polite.

I am sorry. Just making an observation. He drained the remainder of the coffee, and replaced the mug on a stand. He glanced up as Chiquita came over to Kata.

Chiquita make map. Roger smiled. That would be right helpful.

He listened to the women, taking a place near them as they planned a mission.

For right now let's check out the area, see of we can't find anything interesting and possibly avoid catching a cold...You take point, I'll bring up the rear.

Then, Billie spoke to him once more.

Doc..."I hope your bag are packed as since we leave now. He just nodded. He was ready.

I am. Let's move out.

Kata stared down at the map and studied it for a moment before nodding sending water from her wet hat sliding down her back. "Sounds like a plan," she yanked the knife out of the table and handed it back to Witwer before folding the map up and sliding it into a pocket of her vest. The rain had picked up considerably since they had arrived, but least it was just rain and nothing more.

Roger stood up, stretching, and got his medics kit, ready to move out. It DID sound like a plan, actually. He took a few steps forward, and then stopped. He had a strange feeling in his stomach. He chalked it up to nerves, and then turned back. He bent down to Chiquita.

Do you want to walk with me, or are you going to stay with the ladies? He wouldn't mind either way. He stood back up, waiting for her answer, and turned to Billie.

Your orders, Lt. Witwer?He was careful to not call her "Miss." He was British, and a civillian, and his Mum had taught him impeccable manners. It was hard to grasp that the military was a bit different.

Nodding at Harris, Witwer took the lead. The rain was just getting harder and heavier. Walking down the path that seemed endless. She had a flash back to the exam she had done in the snowed land and at night. She shivered from the memories than this planets cold. Had it been so along ago. She wonder then amused herself with Az's reaction she would have had. This would take the cake for her best friend. She really wanted either Az or Ken here; it would have been a blast to work with either of them again. Yet where life took, it took you.

They were almost to the half way mark. Halting the team, "Take five, people," she told her small group. And scowled when the water her her hat, drenched her further. Someone would pay, for sure.

Hearing Roger, her eyes travelled to Harris. While Billie was the XO, this was Harries team, her orders, but replied anyway, "We are almost to the half way mark, so Doc with me," she spoke, "Chiquita is with Harris."

Chiquita beamed at Harris when she thanked her, she enjoyed being helpful and enjoyed being praised even more. It wasn't the same as Onii-chan, who always petted her when he praised her, but unfortunately he wasn't on this assignment. As she watched and listened to the planning she didn't notice Roger standing next her until he spoke to her causing her to nearly jump out of her skin before dashing round Kata to put her between them holding on to her for comfort.

She stayed with Kata as they walked every now and then peering around her to make sure Roger wasn't planning anything. She didn't know why but it always seemed like men just had to keep bugging her quickly retreating away whenever their eyes met. Didn't they know the only guy she talked to was Onii-chan?

Chiquita was not all that happy with the idea of a break, she was raring to go, so long as Roger kept his distance. When Billie mentioned to split Chiquita was tempted to stick her tongue out a Roger but decided against it. "Yokai." she said acknowledging her orders before giving a final glance at Roger.

Roger just shook his head at the little girl. He knew that he was tall, smelled like a human, and had a weird accent, so he chalked it up to a bit of fear on the side of little Chiquita. Instead, he grabbed the map, glanced at it, and then set it aside. Ok. IT was all fairly straightforward.

Billie spoke.

We are almost to the half way mark, so Doc with me.. He nodded, and moved closer to her. He wondered if they'd separate at the halfway mark.

Once Roger was next to her, Billie nodded at Harris and turned in the bitter rain to take lead of the track. So far the rain showed no sign of letting up. Fixing her jacket she walked again along the path, wishing to be back home in her warm bed, picking on her twin or big brother. Plus some need for hot cocoa suddenly seemed appealing.

Titling her head, towards the doctor, "How are you liking this slice of galaxy so far?" she asked, "or are you still wrapping your head around this?" She remembered doing it shortly after joining the academy, but one had to do it fast, if they wanted make through what SGC offered. In the long run, these adventures, would be very worth it. Or he could give Collins a run for her shrinking.

Roger meandered along. He was OK with the rain-several years in the UK had taught him that. You rarely had a bright, sunny day in London, nor in Edinburgh. He was used to it, he supposed. He just kept his head tilted a little, so as to let the rain run off towards the ground. He was still thinking about Chiquita, and how to make her feel more comfortable with him-he was safe, he wouldn't hurt her, let alone touch her, really, unless he had to for medical reasons, of course. He would just keep trying, he supposed.

He arrived next to Billie, not really on purpose, but the cadence of her step matched his. She looked at him, and spoke.

How are you liking this slice of galaxy so far?...or are you still wrapping your head around this? He chuckled a little. He was a shrink, there were no words to describe some of the things he'd witnessed, or heard. But he just nodded.

I have seen war, Lt. This is a cake walk compared to that...and poverty, and things that are unimaginably sad. A whole new world? That gives me hope. Are YOU handling it OK? He never missed an opportunity to try to listen and help.

Billie chuckled as she walked, "Sorry, Doc," she had to hide her amusement, "you seen nothing yet. This place will make you question everything you know about life, or planets in general to a point you will admit you knew less now then previously." It always was the case, more information you had the less you knew. Oh, where was Ken to make her point. 

Keeping her pace, despite the rain, fog and cold, she smiled at his question. It wasn't everyday she heard it, "I have been fully trained for this and more as far Stargate Program and; it's in and outs are concerned from its academy in 2010. So you are in good hands. What I have seen out there, is mind blowing."

Mind blowing seemed to do little justice to the beauty that was out here. Visuals of planets and it's moons couldn't be seen Earth. "Compare to what we will see out here, Earth is a little boring."

Yet from the haze of the fog, she saw something if move, as her senses and alertness heightened, she aimed her gun, "Something is out there," she took few steps ahead, "Captain Harris," she activated her radio, to her team CO, "We might be meeting friendlies."

I already knew THAT, actually. I learned that lesson EONS ago. He let out a breath as Billie prattled on.

Look, I know that I am merely a civillian doctor, and a liablity at that, but I've always been fascinated by the Universe and what is out here...so much more than the tiny speck we are...I hope it's mind blowing. He could use mind-blowing right now-anything, really, to make the heartache lessen a little.

They moved a little forward into the dense fog, and Roger became more alert. He followed Billie Jean's gaze towards a moving figure. What the-? He looked at her, falling a little back, but drawing his weapon. He held it steadily, but inside he was a little afraid.

"Something is out there...Captain Harris,We might be meeting friendlies.' Roger wasn't so sure. He kept his gun at the ready, and waited.

I am not so sure they're friendly, Witwer.
