A desert plain
Mac was annoyed. Really?! Desert warfare training? Had the Stargate people NOT read her service record? Mac was probably the single person on this stupid star gazer with a metric TON of desert warfare training. Hell, she had desert combat experience. Three tours in Gulf One, two in Operation: Iraqi Freedom, and the most recent keeping peace in Mogadishu. Yeah, she was a JAG, but first and foremost, she was a Marine, and she was capable of fighting anywhere. However, here she was.
She reviewed the teams' supplies-they would suffice for the exercise. She was satisified with the level of training that her team had-each was capable and willing to assist. She was slowly beginning to like her CO-while the trust would take awhile to build, and she feared losing him once the cruisers were delivered-she thought that Telion's service record preceeded him, and was going to keep a careful eye on this exercise. She thought it was high time for a promotion, and she would discuss it with the Admiral later.
She left her pup tent, and headed for the males' tent. They had one new member, SSgt. Declan Murphy, who seemed to have some interesting IT ties to NASA. She wasn't exactly sure why a computer geek had been assigned to her team-they could use a medic-but whatever. She didn't question orders as a routine behavior. It didn't affect her job, so she was fine with it.
She knocked.
Gentlemen? This is your wake-up call. She would revert to her old Marine DI tactics if she had to, but so far, these guys hadn't let her down, which was more than she could say for most of the males in her life.
