The next day//Wedding Day

They had agreed on a time, she left Bobby to the task of contacting Wolfe to see if the Pirate King had anything in the ring department while she went digging thru the few items of non uniform clothing she had brought from Earth to try and find something that would still fit her. When she finally settled on something she remembered that she was supposed to find her witness for the ceremony, so she sent the following email to one Col. Hamrick:

"You have a meeting tommrow night in the Admirals office, the knot is being tied, around 1800. Casual attire, feel free to bring a plus one, I'd love for you both to be there. No gifts, except maybe a jar of peanut butter or a mango if you have one laying around." 

Isabelle kept it short and sweet and hoped the Colonel would check his email before the next evening, just to be on the safe side she also sent the message to Dr. Warren.

When the next day arrived everyone went about their day as if it were any other, though the other occupant of her body spent the day doing flips in her stomach. As the set time neared she got ready, putting on the dress she had decided on the night before, forgoing the normal pair of high heels she would wear on Earth, she went with something far more forgiving and comfortable for her feet, lastly she did her hair up in a crown braid before heading to Admiral Oxfords office where she had agreed to meet Bobby. Even if their wedding was going to be as nontraditional as you could get, there were a few things they could try to do to have it be as normal as possible. One of those being neither party seeing each other till the ceremony, so she had spent her day avoiding her future husband. 

Isabelle was adjusting her hair as she walked into Admirals Oxfords office and quickly noticed that Captain Oxford was not present, "We did agree on 1830 right?" she said as she looked to Matt, "If he forgot, I can't promise I won't actually murder him this time." she added.

Cooper's email had said casual for the dress code, which was for the best since Steve had yet to find Devas dry-cleaning facilities on the base anywhere, and his Blue Dress was still in the garment bag from Earth. Cooper had said casual and after dealing with a disciplinary issue that could best described as "baby Marines are reckless," he had just gotten off-duty.

Blake walked in with no door chime or knock, Vedas knew Blake was allowed here anytime. "Okay, by military time we should be there already. By HST, we're thirty minutes early still."

Steve put the garment bag back in the small Vedic closet niche. "Bride said casual, I'll go in duty uniform. Candler and Bronski got into a brawl and I had to write them both up."

Blake smoothed down his button-up shirt. "You do realize I packed more civilian clothing than you did, and you came on a ship. At least change into jeans and a nice shirt, babe."

Steve shrugged. "Hey, I brought some civilian clothes, yeah, I'll change real quick. Hey, if we ever do this, can I wear jeans and a T-shirt?"

The glare was very nearly almost intimidating. Blake knew exactly what he'd want Steve wearing if they got married, and it wasn't jeans and Steve's favorite metal band T-shirt.

Steve pulled off his uniform jacket and dropped it on the bed. And sighed. Right, they didn't ever have this discussion.

Somewhere between changing clothes and finally getting up to the office, Blake and Steve both arrived at the time and place for the wedding. Steve was looking for the bride and the groom and only saw the former. "Witness present with plus one, luckily he won't eat much at the reception."

Blake shook his head. "Steve has this mistaken idea that he's funny, Isabelle." And he looked for his team leader. "It's been about twenty years since I was married, but I think we're missing someone."

Earlier that day….

Travis sprayed the coffee he had just sipped and stared at Bobby. The expedition executive officer looked almost calm. For Travis, almost being the keyword. Who knew what was brewing being the facade his cousin choose to support. “YOU want ME to do what?” he asked, clearly it was something he was mishearing.

Bobby wasn’t sure if he was amused or insulted, but it’s own way it was both. “Are you deaf?” he asked feeling annoyed. It was tempting to swing in the chair to pi$$ of the Colonel. “Or you want more coffee?” Since Travis had been here, he was the only Oxford to make sense after Matt, at least around in this slice of the galaxy.

Travis frowned, knowing he was neither deaf, dumb nor he needed more coffee. Dumbstruck was another matter. “I’m good,” the former Delta XO replied, “I’m just having a hard time wrapping it around my head. However, I’m not surprised about the baby on the way…. But the other half of your plan…..” He needed a whiskey on ice after this. And preferably the whole bottle.

“What’s wrong with that?” Bobby rose an eyebrow at his youngest cousin. “I ain’t getting any younger. This round gives me a chance to start that way…..” he shifted in his seat, “I should have.”

Getting over Jamie wasn’t and hadn’t been easy for Bobby, Travis knew that much. Sighing he leaned back and studied the man who was the XO of the Project, the change he had witnessed in the man was a mind boggling, but that what SGC was at times known to do to a man. Change them. “True,” he bobbed his head, “but, I guess I own you huh?” Bobby had been one of best men, heck all the Oxford boys had been. All five had been for each other. It was now his tun to do so. Even if it was only Matt and him. Yet his saw Bobby nod, “I’m in, but you own Aunt Sarah a proper wedding once you are back on earth.”

Bobby groaned, “And you think I don’t know that?” he scowled at the thought. Wasn’t once enough?

He struggled with the tie he was in the middle of tying around his neck. The damn thing was noose. Pulled any tighter, he was sure it would kill him. Last time he had worn it was then he was back on earth and in a meeting with IOA and General Loveridge. “I’m going to murder you for suggesting this outfit,” he he threw a murderous glare at Travis.

Throwing him a look, “You had a better outfit?” he asked smartly as he put on his coat and shrugged in place, “if not, stop bi*ching.” He said as he opened the door and walked in. Seeing Cooper he grinned at her. The woman was going to be his cousin-in-law within an hour. “The groom isn’t missing…. anymore, but where the heck is the admiral?”

“Great!” Bobby called out, as he wasn’t yet coming inside, “now the moron makes us wait?”

"Steve has this mistaken idea that he's funny, Isabelle....It's been about twenty years since I was married, but I think we're missing someone."

She had quickly realized that Admiral Oxford was not in his office, so not only were they missing the other participant in this ceremony, they were also missing the officiant. Isabelle turned to look at Steve and Blake as they entered, crossing her arms over her chest she nodded towards the Admirals desk, "The groom is not the only one missing and Colonel, your plus one is welcome to eat as much as he wants, I would actually appreciate it because then I would not be the only one with a mountain of food." the joys of pregnancy, she wanted to eat everything she could and then there were days where she did not want anything but saltines. 

Taking a step back she leaned against the edge of Matts desk and looked at her two witnesses, the same couple who also were going to be the godparents of the baby, "Why can't men every be anywhere on time? I mean they are always saying women are the late ones but.." she waved her hand thru the air, "I believe that saying is wrong." no sooner were the words out of her mouth then did Col. Oxford walk into the office, “The groom isn’t missing…. anymore, but where the heck is the admiral?”  Iz just sighed and shook her head at the mans words, “Great! Now the moron makes us wait?” Bobby called from the hallway. "Is there any reason you're staying out in the hallway?" she called back, "Because I am not marrying you out there and don't make me have someone drag you in here."

It wasn't normally the kind of thing they'd do here, but Steve reached for Blake's hand.
"Volunteer here."

Blake snorted. "I'll eat. Is there a reception, I didn't think there was a reception."

"I was only a little late, couple of the young guys had to be put on report." Steve smoothed out the dark blue polo shirt. "Anywhere in particular you want us?"

Matt waited for for Wolfe to bring the rings. Standing on the ship with few SF’s flocking him, he looked around. The bridge wasn’t as horrible as he imagined it to be. Being a pirate did come with few interesting notions. He settled on that words when he lacked a better one. He knew the he was making the bride and groom wait, but it wasn’t like Bobby had made them wait so many years before the man actually got married. Getting the man married wasn’t the fun part yet. That was to be his aunts reaction to know her eldest had gotten married in a shotgun wedding with the bride carrying her grandchild who would arrive soon. He could easily see the reaction of his whole family.

He noticed his men move when the footsteps were heard. Lifting his head he turned, and looked at Wolfe, “You got all that is needed?” he asked. The gems would worth a fortune. An amount that none of them were able to afford back home.

“Yea,” he called back, “not suppose to see you before the wedding starts, remember. I can come inside and keep my eyes closed.”

Travis snorted at Bobby’s words, “Since when did you become a slicker for tradition?” the Colonel asked, tipping his head towards the door. As far as he knew, Bobby had never cared for tradition. The man had a kid out a wedlock, the first time. And marriage had never been on Bobby’s mind. But here he was, getting married.

Sighing, he groaned, “TRAVIS!” he warned, “watch it kid. You are pushing your luck here, bro.” Bobby wagged a finger towards his cousin, which the man could not see at all.

Travis grinned, “Am I?” Both men could easily bring out the worst in each other. Travis did not once regret sending Bobby to Vedic Project from the start. He knew the man’s strengths as well his weaknesses.

“You got all that is needed?”

Wolfe chuckled and nodded, he paid no mind to the security forces that the Admiral had brought with him, Oxford was as safe as a babe in their mothers arms on his ship, no one would touch him without a word from Wolfe, and if they did, then they would be lacking a hand soon after. "I have what you need and then some." he replied, raising a hand he motioned one of his men forward, he was in charge of The Novas vault, and was one of Wolfes most trusted men. The man set what he held on a nearby table, the box was made of an elaborately carved metal and want about twelve long in length. Wolfe walked over to the table and opened the box and inside was a small fortune worth of rings, something that would make someone millions back on Earth but for Wolfe it was merely some trinkets he had acquired over the hundreds of years of his life. 

"Feel free to take your pick, and if these do not work, then we can just go look at the rest of what I have on board, and if that is not enough then we can go view my other vault but that would take a day to get there." he said as he motioned to the assortment of rings he had selected.

She was marrying the snarky jackass who loved to annoy her, she was happy but at the same time she wanted to smack her future husband. "Is that like how I am also not supposed to have gone to bed with you before the wedding?" she called back, "Because look how well that has gone." she added. Isabelle looked to Steve, "If you're not in here in two minutes then I am going to ask our childs godparents to drag you in here." but that would still leave them missing the final piece of this whole ordeal.

His pick?

Matt rose an eyebrow as he moved towards the rings and noticed his men being uncomfortable. He gave a nod to them to let them know it was safe. He looked over the selected ones, giving approval for them. “More than enough,” he told the pirate, “I’ll get Cooper and Bobby pick out the ones they like.” That way neither of them got on Wolfe’s and his case. He knew women were selective when it came to jewellery. His wife was; she had styles she liked and didn’t like. Matt was sure if he had picked something she hated, he knew she would send him back to bring something she like. Lucky for her, he knew her likes and dislikes.

Another vault? Matt had to wonder just how much did the man carry on the ship of his. On the other hand he did not want to know. If a person carried that much on Earth, they were asking to get mugged, depending on where they lived. “I think this would be more than enough.” Sure it had to be. How many rings he could bring to the couple. “Shall we?” He was sure he was running a bit late for the wedding as it was.

When Travis threw him a look after Iz had spoken Bobby knew she had a point to a degree. Sighing he shook his head as if to say to Travis, don’t you dare become a smartass. “No,” he called back, “it’s not and I didn’t hear you complain.”

At Bobby’s words, Travis refrained from snickering, “Great start,” he patted the Captain’s shoulder before grabbing it, and shoving the man inside Matt’s Office, “She has a point, dumbass.”

Bobby had to resist the urge to punch Travis. “I’m not the dumbass,” he shot his cousin a glare, “you and your brother….. two peas in a pod.”
