    Henry found the page in his notebook he was looking for; notes on the language of the Ancient that he'd made based on Doctor Daniel's translations. A laptop would have been a more effective way to store and organise his work, but the archaeologist much preferred the tactile experience of writing and reading. The smell of old books in the library at Oxford were among his fondest memories of his time at university, first as a student and later as a lecturer.

    Behind him, Chief Calmara inquired about as to how he was feeling. "I'm, errr, yeah," Henry starting, losing himself in his work. It was nice of the man to ask, and Henry did not intent to offend him, but the Doctor had a horrible habit of disappearing into his work and blocking out the rest of the world. "I'm alright thanks," he replied, only half aware of what was going on around him.

    He'd laid the notepad down next to the control panel and was running his fingers across the page, trying to match the symbols on the console to his notes. Lights came on around him, from ceiling panels and lights embedded in the consoles. Doctor Maccafferty announced that he had turned the power on and asked how the translation was going.

    "It's Ancient, and it's not," he replied, knowing the statement was a contradiction. "The language looks to be based on Ancient texts, most likely a root. But there's Middle Eastern influences, most likely Indian." Which made sense, given that the coordinates for this planet had been found in and around India. "I should be able to translate it easily enough."

As she moved through the lush jungles her ancilla set a warning [/Intrusion attempt detected/] that was not good. 'Where ?' She asked mentally. Ancillas were a nural contact AI system. Which was quite useful on many levels. [/FWA129II7 sent intrusion alert warning/] Came the reply. 'Show me' A holographic video appeared showing the contact made before it ended. [/Intrusion attempt ceased as contact with FWA129II7 was ended. Advise caution/] the Ancilla went silent then.

Withdrawing her Diamane Rod, the pistol sized weapon packed a bunch in plasmic and hardlight energy when used, not as good as a Longrod, or a Battlerod, but it did have a scope on it. She activated it and took a very carefull look towards the hangar. The main entry door was sealed, so how did someone get in ? Must be a Meowtian. Makes-Eternal thought Only they can get past barriers if they know what is on the other side. She spotted the humans and focused on the panel that one of them was nearest. That's it, really easy to by pass. Just don't touch anything inside until I get there! She thought. With that she was tempted to draw her sword. But kept her pistol in hand. Disengaging the scope the holographic helmet disappeared as it had faded into view.

It was time to return to her fighter. She made for the rooftop of the hangar by the back way and headed along the top. Keeping low and out of sight she halted as she heard the humans speak. Carefully she poked her pistol over the edge and used her scope vision settings to take in what was there. One human at the hologram control panel, and two others taking cover not far away. It was the two taking cover that caught her attention. What were they hiding from ? She checked the system status. Everything was working. Just needed those three inside before the last part went into affect.

[/Warning: satalite scan in affect. Intrusion software measures not detected. Masking radio signal to that of local wildlife/] Her Ancilla had picked up some radio signal tracings. Well, thank goodness for small favors. On any scanning screen where the humans were, the item detected ontop of the hangar was a part of the local wildlife, a bird by the speed it moved apparently. Makes headed for the rooftop access way and without a sound dropped into the hangar lobby from the skylight. Masking her signal perfectly from any satalite above. [/System Update: Nolonger detected by local satalite software/] Her Ancilla reported.

Perfect, now for the rest of the trap. And find out just who was trying to access her fighter. She took a very brief scan while carefully hidden and for the moment could not see anything wrong.

Fiala stood there in the middle of the room organizing an defensive position with the military, placing ammo and anything of danger out of a firing line if needed . Everything else was placed to help an defensive position in a worst case scenario . The main aim was to give the military personal something to do and unless ordered she wasn't to worried about the civics . Fiala needed the cives in order and not wandering around the room . It was with that Fiala spoke to an private



" Andrews I want these civies broken into groups so if needed there more easy to move quickly, keep them them from wandering around into the firing line. As for one of them, she has a duty " she turned around towards the civics but to just one of the ladies among them, her name was Zoja and a friend since first since she joining the mission a few years ago . Fiala had helped her fit in and a friendly voice to talk to in her home language . Fiala placed an arm a pone her shoulder as she spoke to her in Czech .

" I need you to do that job for me now."
All it was Zoja first language she understood it well .


All Zoja did was smile and put her hand on her, " You owe me big for this, I hope you now that . As long as she ha papers for him. " She turned and slowly walked towards the control room



Fiala watched as Zoja entered the control room and walked towards Fi and spoke in a soft tone.

" Ms Maccafferty, sorry for disturbing you . I see you look a bit overloaded with your personal items . Would you like me look after items for you . Keep them out of harm" Fiala stood at a distance from the window looking in, wondering if Fi would catch the helping hand she was trying to give at a distance .
It was all she could do and would Fi trust Zoja as much as she did .

"Poručík Skala, Can you get the rest of the team up and assembled in the gate room. We have a ... Interesting development"

She with that turned to Kelly and smile .

" Sergeant, you heard the order, get yourself and shadow ready . Lets see yous shine . "

Fee was typing as furiously as possible. If she had a few more arms, life would be even better. Hell, the ability to clone herself, and a year's supply of Adderall would be best. She looked at James as if he were a dodo. 

Will do, are we looking at a problem or something of interest for them to take a look at? She tried not to consider him useless as a chocolate teapot and instead nodded, red hair bouncing as she did so. 

I have a warning message. Can't make it out just yet, but I don't think we're flying the friendly skies, Sargeant. She spoke to James as she kept her eyes focused. Luckily for Fee, she was good at multitasking and thus, could do both things at once. 

Admiral from Calmara. Power is on in the control room courtesy of Miss McCafferty. Whats your twenty sir? We have a bit of a heads up for you...Fee simply nodded as Calmara spoke. She wanted to snatch his radio away, and talk to the Admiral herself, but that was too outrageous, even for HER. Instead, she sighed. THe warning message was taking over all of her systems. Where WAS everyone? 

Stoneham, Quick in here....Miss Maccafferty, He is all yours. Calamara what's our situation and has the Admiral been told? Fee was still a bit scared of Lt. Law, but she tried to not let it show. She smiled tensely at the new man. 

Allo. Fiona Maccafferty, your TA. Say, are you SURE nothing funny happened out there? Not even anything minor? She was almost hacked into the space cruiser's black box, but not quite yet. Her quick mind had figured out Stargate's security code, but she'd need this Stoneham fellow's. She turned to the man. 

'Ere, I need your passcode so I can get the tech specs off the data core. She turned to Lt. Law. 

Thank you, Lt. Do you mind sticking around for a moment? Fee didn't need anything but another female's company-for safety.

A bit later, Fee had started a diganostic on Stoneham's cruiser. So far, she was still uploading. If only she could figure out how to make it go faster, but some of the code was in that Ancient's language, and while Celtic was ancient, it wasn't the same. She was also tracking the team on her beacon system-so far, they hadn't strayed too far from the outpost. Good. She was going back and forth between screens and holding down conversations with the others. She heard a voice over Calmara's radio. 

Calmara. Is Fee- This made her smile, but she didn't break her concentration. Is Ms. MacCafferty there with you?[/i] Fee turned on the radio signal she'd tapped into to install the beacon. 

Lt., I am here... She was careful to not call him "Koren," though she assumed she'd slip eventually. But she knew that now was not the time. She could hear him clearly now. 

I've got a door here with some sort of locking security mechanism engaged...There's what looks like a control panel to the left of the door...You got any ideas for me, or do you want me to start pressing buttons?" Fee nodded, and then flushed when she realized he couldn't SEE her. She thought for a quick second. 

Yes. Aear Charter has eyes on the door. Find him, and then start pressing buttons. Look especially for one that is red, or black. That should be the power button. It probably won't be obvious. But whatever you do, DON'T press anything in blue. That seems to trigger the warning. What was going on?? Just then, Fee heard Aear's voice through Koren's radio. 

You said buttons right?...Here's what you do. Hit the third one, then the fifth one, then the one that has a 'Q' on it, then hit the batman symbol. If that doesn't work just bash everything! She shook her head, but then shrugged. 

Actually, Kor-Lt. Try that, minus the Batman lark. Aear, please try not to be a pisser. Have you a radio? If not, stick close to the Lt. She might not be quite keen yet on the cat man, but if he were right about the buttons, he'd be a useful asset anyway. 

As Koren was doing his magic with the cat-man, Fee was interrupted by a strange woman.

The woman's accent sounded similar to Fiala's-perhaps the women knew each other. Fee bit the inside of her cheek for a moment...on the one hand, she could get caught. On the other, she was far too busy to pay much mind to Jacques at the moment. With a sigh, she nodded. 

Yes, please. I appreciate it. The larger one is quite heavy, and fragile. Please be careful. She smiled at the woman, and lifted her bags. After that was over, she turned to Dr. Pratt. 

I am going to begin to beam the parts of the code I can't understand to you. How fast are your translate skills? She hoped they were bloody brilliant. She slipped a hand under her glasses and rubbed her eyes. The young woman was not prepared for trouble on her first day. She needed a drink, some rugby on the telly, and Jacques. She wanted a nap. But there wasn't time. She was waiting for the team to assemble. She was finally NEEDED, and there was no time to dwell on herself. She had to help the others..she needed to possibly save some lives.

He had finished looking at one of the rooms and exited when clamor and confusion surrounded his brain, frowning, he moved towards the gathered group when soft, yet bare audible made him blink, fairly enough they were on another planet far from home. For now he was going to wait and see what the experienced ones did. Even being a rookie had it's advantages.

Hearing the radio, it baited his curiosity, "What type of developments?" he asked slowly wonder if that sounds he thought he heard before had something to do with it. Looking around he didn't see anything out of the ordinary ...yet. But it wasn't that they won't able to find it.

He looked at Aear and blinked, batman symbol? Okay. Lean back he watched as the experts took control.

Aear stopped looking for a way into the craft and jumped off a little closer to the door. He'd heard his name, not only did she recognise his voice but he recognised some of the voices he'd been hearing. He hadn't paid attention to it before but Bobs, Lawly, Korey and Fee-Fee were all here, and Fee-Fee could see him somehow. Not only that but Korey was nearby. He looked around. It looked like he was alone with the strike craft but... Best to be sure he nodded to himself.

"Boop!" he said as he let out a wide area MaNaR pulse. He sensed Korey, the admiral and Mac (who he hadn't met yet) on the other side of the door presumably trying to get in. But also he sensed someone in the room he was in. A small linker core like humans, she stood nearly 8 feet tall and if she wasn't so tall he'd have mistaken her for a Mizukin.

"Fee-Fee thats you right? I'm not with Korey right now but my MaNaR scan says he's on the other side of the door." he projected his telepathy over the radio. "I don't have a radio i've just been projecting my telepathy over it... Like a circuit bypass of sorts. Anyway I found a nice looking strike craft, not a design I recognise. It's not Meowtian, Lumix or Chou and i'm pretty sure it's not one of yours."

He wasn't going to mention his guest. She had faint energy around her, presumably some sort of disguise. If he had his intelligence officer nearby she could sneak up on her. Actually she'd be able to figure out how to get into this ship.

"Oi! Chiqui-chin! Help me find a way into this ship." he called to her through telepathy. The same way he was on the radio but instead of projecting it over radio he'd projected it right into her head.

Mac turned around. Her group was already gone. Men. They couldn't wait to go get thier man, could they? With a sigh, she crossed to Captain Oxford. Without a word, she raised an eyebrow, nodded, and took a radio, turning two and disappearing down the nearest hall to meet up with the scouts. She finally found the two men she hadn't formally met. They were stopped, and she'd found them by following the voices on the radio chatter. She found them in the hallway, outside of what appeared to be a portal. She withdrew her weapon, just in case, but listened quietly as the men plotted. 

Any hanger would be on the perimeter.Should we start there sir? Mac interjected. 

If I can interject, Admiral....I have some expereience in Black ops. Send me one way, and the Lt. here another. We'll meet in the middle...see what we see. Perhaps you can accompany me, if you're worried about a female out there alone. I, for one, am not.... She shut up. She probably shouldn't push her luck with the man, but she was really OK by herself. She just wasn't used to Stargate protocols yet. 

A thickly-accented voice came over the radio.

But whatever you do, DON'T press anything in blue. That seems to trigger the warning.. The three began to move. She raised her weapon, ready, but moved silently. Stealth was of importance. She hadn't been an honored Marine for no reason. She was brash or irrational, but rather she was calculating and precise. She wanted to be right, or at least damned close, because losing lives really sucked. 

You know, they told me this assignment was shore duty...that I wouldn't see combat. Leave it to the Navy to leave things out... she muttered, to no one in particular. They arrived where the Irish woman had directed them, and she stood in awe. Nothing in her years of training had prepped her for this. 

A door? With a ship in it? What's an Aear? She had a bit to learn, obviously.

Liam nodded when his commander said that, then headed to the gate room with Shadow, his rifle up and ready, Shadow knew it was time to work.  Once there, Liam and Shadow fell in with the others, waiting for what was to come next.  Shadow watched closely as he stood next to his handler, he knew something was going on.  Shadow scanned the area as he stood there, wondering what was going to happen next.

Hanger Bay

"Admiral from Calmara. Power is on in the control room courtesy of Miss McCafferty. Whats your twenty sir? We have a bit of a heads up for you."

Adjusting his radio and gun while he watched the area for un-wanted friendlies, "Our twenty," he responded back, "a good half a mile away from the gate area. You have Bobby around, get him to look at this." He paused for a moment, "I mean Captain Oxford." It was going to tricky to keep to ranks with Bobby.

They still had no idea what the noise had been, when Law's words came over, titling his head, he waited for then woman to reply. But knew there were chances that things were as bad as they first thought.

Hearing Mackenzie, he rubbed his face, "Look around the hanger," he looked at her, as they had access to the place, "Watch our six." he entered the bay, with his gun raised, as he gazed around the slightly darkened room. Keeping her put had nothing to do with her being a female. It was more with them having no idea what they were dealing with.

Moving over to the ship, he was careful not to touch it in case they triggered an alarm or something. Since it had no dust of sort collected on it, "I think someone might be on the planet and we ain't alone." And it didn't seem to be abandoned either.

Clicking his radio, "Heads up folks," he spoke, "We might have company." Keyword being might.

Sadie was still on the other side of the Gate. Since she was an Army medic, it was her assignment to make sure all the Civvies got past OK. She also waited for the rest of the military personnel to make their way through. She was always curteous, and wanted to make sure that everyone was safe. They were, and so she stepped into the threshold, and went across. She didn't close her eyes-she was used to it by now. 

She looked around the new room for Liam, but he was busy with officer work, so she didn't bother him. Instead, she sought out Dr. Harrison, and the two made a plan to get the infirmary set up. Finally, she went out to see what she could in the hall-afer all, she was Army. She kept her gun close, but not cocked, but she was on alert. 

SHe saw several people pass by on their rounds. She stepped out and spoke to one of the officers. 

Sgt. Sadie Lexington. Can I help? 

She hoped she coulc be useful...

Liam was in position with with the rest of the team after hearing the comment about how they might be having company.  At the same time, Shadow scenced that someone or something may be coming, but he didn't bark at first.  Seconds later, he let out a sharp bark, not the friendly kind, the kind that said someone was coming and he or she may not be friendly.  Easy Shadow Jason said to him in German.  Shadow heard his handler say that as he kept his eyes in the direction that he sensed the person.  It was clear that Shadow was not going to let anyone sneak up on his master or the others on this expedition.


Liam noticed it and wasn't surprised as he stood there in position.  He thought back to when he was in Africa with his A-Team, which was the first time he had Shadow with him on a mission.  It was the same situation then as it was here.

Chiquita had been sitting by the gate when it activated, she'd been brought as part of Aear's team and though she was more then enjoying the time spent with her siblings, sometimes she thought Kana was right and her brother was just messing around. She'd scampered when the gate burst into life and with so many people around it had taken her a while to get her courage back and inch over whilst invisible. Well she had started to anyway until some dog barked at her. Whilst Shadow couldn't see her anymore then anyone else could he could defiantly smell her. It had made her jump at first until the handler said something that almost sounded familiar. Something like the language the Kitsune used, like her father had used. She shook her head to focus and approached the dog whilst staying invisible.

"Uno... Daijoubu desu." she said as queitly as she could to the dog as she held out her hand to sniff. Liam might have heard her but she wasn't close enough to anyone else. "Chiquita freindly dai you. Chiquita only help Oni-chan. Not want to hurt anyone." she said her hand shaking. Dogs didn't tease her, they didn't discpline her for no reason, they just liked to play.

Chiquita suddenly stood up as she heard Aear's voice in her head. "Hai. Onii-chan." she replied before running off to the hangar area.

It hadn't taken Chiquita long to find Koren and the small group in front of a locked door. Clearly they had no idea how to open it. Chiquita giggled a little before placing her hand on the door. She closed her eyes for a moment. She'd not encountered this type of lock before but the humming had a pattern. If she listened carefully it's almost like the door told her how to unlock it. Chiquita hit one of the buttons and the door opened up and she rushed through to Aear.

Liam watched as Shadow sniffed the air around them.  It was clear to him that someone was close, but he he couldn't see them.  Nevertheless, he kept alert, his P90 close by and ready just in case.  As he continued to look around, Liam thought he heard someone speak to Shadow, but he wasn't really sure as it sounded like a whisper.  Liam looked back to the rest of the team, then to Shadow, who was still acting as if someone else was around them.

Control Room

    With the immediate area secured and the power turned back on Henry had been left to his own devices in the control room adjacent to the Stargate. With notebook in hand the archaeologist was slowly but surely translating the phrases on the computer consoles that littered the room. The Indian-inspired Ancient language wasn't too hard to get a hang of, and he was making good progress. He affixed a sticky note just below each key as he translated the words inscribed on it, working his way around the room.

    From the radio chatter Doctor Pratt was vaguely aware that a spaceship of some sort had been found, and something about a locked hologram that was giving security personnel a measure of grief. His duty was here however; while they'd managed to turn the power on they mightn't be able to do much more if they didn't know how to use the local computer system.

    Henry's radio came to life with the voice of Doctor Maccaffery. "I am going to begin to beam the parts of the code I can't understand to you. How fast are your translate skills?" Startled, the archaeologist dropped his notebook and jumped, knocking the radio off the console and onto the ground. Taking a deep breath he tried his best to settle himself, retrieving and activating the radio.

    "I'm still in the control room, if you can, errr, make the text appear on the main monitor I can translate it for you." He wasn't even sure if such a thing was possible, but Fiona had demonstrated a natural affinity for the native computer system.

McCaffertys expresions and her keeness to get to grips with the problem and it was a problem that was developing pulled Calmara up. He cursed himself silently for allowing himself, to fall into the 'seen it all before' attitude, thats how mistakes were made.

Lt. Law hurrying into the control room and grabing his attention had him back on task. Knowing her well enough Calmara took her statement as a pointer that she was looking to back the Admirals team up. Thankfully one of the default displays seemed to be a schematic of the outpost. "Yeah It appears we have, best I can tell the Admirals team is entering a hanger here." He pointed to the display. "This area here is giving off some interesting readings, might be worth having a look. Plus its not far from a possable back up access to the hanger, just in case the admiral needs backing up."

With teams out in the outpost Calamra turned his attention to the DHD, gaining inteligence about the current state of affairs of the galaxy was one of the first tasks the expedition was assigned, which Involved sending SV-1 through the gate to a planet of interest.

He knew from experance that a log of gate activity was usualy kept and usualy could be accessed close to the DHD, he brushed his hand against one of the control keys which had been labled by Dr Pratt as 'Contact Records', a list appeared containing stargate addresses and what he assumed were a few notes by the side of each. One address caught his attention, as being the most frequently dialed. He looked across at Dr. Pratt about to request a translation, McCafferty beat him too it, and instead of overloading the man waited a few moments.

"You have Bobby around, get him to look at this......I mean Captain Oxford." Calmara glanced up sighting Capt. Oxford who had not long reentered the gate room by the looks of it. He radioed the pair of them to suggest a different course of action. "Admiral, Captain, you might want to hold off on that. Lt. Law has a team checking out a area not for from yourself, we have a couple of other teams out in the base. Our next thing should be getting a feel from the state of the galaxy. Ive located a list of recent addresses and found a candidate or two for us to gate to. Once Dr Pratt's given us an idea of the notes of these addresses, I recommend SV-1 is tasked to scout them."
